Waterpik Flosser Thermal Fuse Replacement // TRU Fixes

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I troubleshoot a Waterpik Flosser that is not turning on. Turns out that the thermal fuse is bad. Can I successfully replace the fuse and get this flosser back in business?
Fuse was purchased on Amazon. Search for PANASONIC EYP-2BN109 FUSE, THERMAL
Another source: www.nextwarehouse.com/item/?20... (I've never purchased from them, so do your due diligence)

Model: WP - 150W (Same as the one shown) Power: 120 VAC Resistor: 47Ω 1W ±0.1% Metal Film : Yellow, Violet, Black, Gold, Violet Fuse: PANASONIC EYP-2BN109, 2 A, 250 V, 114 °C Thermal Cutoff Fuse I can confirm these, I just fixed mine after watching this video as a brief tutorial (Thanks TRU!), I hope this helps someone! Source of issue: Left the device on, but the handle off. The handle does not turn the device off, only puts a physical barrier to prevent the flow of water, so it is still attempting to pump water all night and blows the fuse by morning.

@@TRUFixes I found this fuse on Taobao. There is a 115°C option and a 130°C option. Would it be a good idea to go with 130°C, since this seems to be a common problem with the 115°C fuse?

Great video. I think you should have strapped the thermal fuse to the body of the motor like it was from the factory. The purpose of the thermal fuse is to open if the motor gets too hot. Just my opinion.

It seems that the fuse is discontinued. I added a link in the description for a site that has it for $6 but the reviews on Trustpilot are not so good. I can't seem to find a substitute with the same specs...

It might be the motor that is starting to go bad. Can also be a power issue - not enough voltage being sent from the power board.

Thank you very much, I didn’t have other thermal fuse to replace, so I cut it off, and the water floss come back to life. Do you think it’s a problem to continue using without the fuse? I’m taking care to use it shortly to not warm the motor. Thanks

  • @TRUFixes

The fuse is there to protect other components, whether it's the motor or some other important component. I mean, you'll be ok, but if something were to short out then there's a chance of burning out the whole flosser. I would consider replacing the fuse as a safety precaution. Thank you for watching!

I don't think that it will work. You need to step down the voltage to 110v or else the fuse will blow.
