I want to thank you for opening up a whole new world for me, I love watching you paint and I'm a year into my journey with watercolor and I never knew I had this gift, I've recently sold my first painting and I owe it to you. My husband doesn't even get mad when I spend the money on professional supplies and I'm 3k into it and never one word from him, anyway thank you for your videos and helping me believe in myself, which I couldn't do before ❤
You are one clever artist to have created such a magic field of beauty. I love it and thank you...from me in the UK
LOVE this. Love the technique, love your commentary, love the playfulness, love the confidence you instill. Thanks, Ellen! You are one of very best teachers out there.😊

I love using this wet technique. Such a fun trick! I don’t use my heat tool when I do this because the paper ends up folding up and warping, so definitely agree with letting it dry on its own 🤩
Perfect I have a Field I have wanted to paint..I took the photo 6 years ago.. NOW...I'm going to tackle it..Thank you Ellen!
Me encantó en cuanto lo vi. Gracias, Ellen; pronto lo voy a intentar. Un cordial saludo desde el NW de México 🌵🌼
m excited to take more o you classes. You are also laid back and entertaining. Thanks for the fun and knowledge.

First part of my comment disappeared? This is the first time I have been successful in wet on wet. Thank you.
I love this!! The "blur" of colors! ...and the way you wet the paper front, back and tilted it. I never thought of doing that. I've been trying to do more " blured scenery paintings. Thanks!

Wonderful, inspirational, thank you very much for this video, I feel encouraged and ready to begin afresh
This really is an amazing technique. I just found out about it a few weeks ago. You can make that paper super wet, then roll off the excess with a rolled up clean white cloth and literally have a wet page for an hour. Beautiful, Ellen!
Thanks for the ideas! You have a soothing voice too!
After watching you have "fun", I'm going to dig out my paints, brushes, and easel and paint again! Thanks for your encouragement!!
I love your carefree approach :D
Awesome teacher. Love your technique.
Lovely painting. I love the out of focus effect of the distant trees and the acrylic ink flowers. Gorgeous!
You make it look so easy. Very pretty. I really like the idea of wetting the back to keep the paper flat.
The metal tip of a mechanical pencil works great for grass. Love your Queen Anne's lace technique.
Love this soft foggy looking technique! Can’t wait to try the sprat and stick (lol) tip for wet on wet. Thanks, Ellen!

Inspiring; just what I needed to test out my new WC brushes!?🥰🤩👍🏾🙏🏾
Love this! Learning so much from you. New to WC, I really appreciate your naming the colors you are mixing together. Fascinating !
I saw someone use the corner of the paint tube to scrape! It works! Beautiful painting 🥰
I love your teaching style! It feels as though I’m spending time with a friend. 😊 You’re unguarded, remarks and thoughtful conversation are unique and very helpful! Thank you!

As always, inspirational!
Thank you Ellen I made it ! And it is amazingly beautiful
Thank you! I just got my brusho set, so I was playing around after I watched this video. And when it created its own kind of beach scene, I remembered you and got my stick to make grass! It totally fleshed it out. (Now I'm going to go back to watch some beach tutorials, so I can add texture? surf? to the water.) I appreciate you so much. You have been such an inspiration and influence since I started painting!
I use an old glass cutting board and flip it to the smooth side. I’m using this technique often for my beach scenes. The results are always great. Thanks dear Ellen. Blessings to you and everyone!

@@rmuller366 It actually works well because it is a hard surface with a "gloss" or smooth finish to it so it works like a suction cup lol I remembered after seeing your suggestion too that I used glass to "stick" some photos to as well when i was doing a project. it worked well for those too. thanks again :) Happy Painting!
You had me at, "We're gonna be splattering paint". lol Love your channel so much. I don't get to comment often because I normally watch through my Amazon Fire Stick - I am able to Like, Subscribe, and Hit the Bell for notifications. I've done that! I love your work. It is fun, colourful, and whimsy. Thanks for the joy in some of my darkest seasons.... To top it all off my kitty just died and I'm FURever changed. I need this right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🐈⬛💕

Love all your work! You’ve help me loosen up!
Wowza! That is just gorgeous..lovvve it
I like the burnt sienna and could picture letting a small swath of it move loosely down the right side of the painting. I kept seeing Voldemort's face in the blue blobs at the top - I'm glad you saw them and covered it up!

Very pretty, a must try. Thank you.
Putting the dark below the wild flowers really made them pop. I have several that I’ve done in the past that just looked flat, this is a game changer. I’m also going to try wetting the back of the paper to make it stay flat.

I really appreciate the way you teach. We learn the techniques but you are always encouraging us to use our imagine and to experiment with colors and ideas.
Love this, Ellen! Can’t wait to try. Thank you!
Thanks Ellen that was fun
Funny that I just tried this yesterday! Really does work well, especially here in super dry Colorado! For me there’s two points to learn. First I am not always a fan of the blooms, except for certain situations so I had to figure out how long to wait to paint. Of course you are right about thicker paint no bleeding as much. Second, a lot of paintings have a point where they need to dry completely before continuing. Then, what to do with your dry painting? I rewet it, both front and back, but not as much. That seemed to work pretty well. It does provide the perfect surface to create credit card rocks! Clouds worked great, and I could even adjust them a bit with the second wetting! Then just patience while it dries to the right amount! Thank you! You are right, it’s fun!💕
How I love this technique I will try this soon thank you.
Awesome. Thank you . You make me brave to “relax and play with the paint “
Oh so pretty!!
Thanks for the great technique!
I might have to give this a try, during our extreme heatwave weather in the summertime. Thanks for sharing this wonderful informational video.

Hi Ellen. Thank you for sharing this with us and showing us your tips. I am a beginner painter and have used this technique in the past, not knowing it was really a "technique" lol so that's cool to find out now. It does work very well. I have not painted in a couple of yrs and feeling more inspired after seeing a few of your videos, so thank you for that and i really enjoyed your painting as well. Blessings and have a wonderful week.

Girl, I could watch you paint all day!
I love it! Back in the mid 90s when I began doing watercolor classes, on the list of supplies was some kind of board. I went to Tap Plastics and got a remnant of plexiglass a few inches lager than 1/4 sheet of paper and somewhere back then I discovered that getting the paper wet and putting it on like this was wonderful! In the summer, I just lifted the paper a bit and sprayed it down and it was wonderful painting plein air on hot summer days! I think you're the first video that I remember seeing someone else do it! LOL! I love the results of your spraying and splattering - and putting that line back there! This actually reminds me of our back field at my folks' place. There was a small woods on one side and about an acre of hay. We didn't have so much Queen Anne's Lace as we did Scotch broom. I'm allergic to both! LOL! They stopped haying over the years and from what I've seen on Google maps, trees have now grown in the field.
Love your presentation , truly learned a lot , a big thnaks
Another great video. I really like your playful teaching ways. Any time splashing paint is time well spent.
You’re so inspiring! I really learned a lot!
Very helpful Ellen- thank you for sharing your techniques
Burnt Sienna is one of my favorite colors. It shows up in most of my paintings - either on its own or mixed in with another color. Mix it with Ultramarine Blue and you get a rich grey/black.
Thank you I am going to give a try and another until get something resembling your painting. 🇨🇦
So cool!
