Wow! I’ve been painting for nearly 15 years but learned so much about alternate techniques by watching this video. Anxious to try a few botanicals utilizing “pouring”. Also intrigued by the stencil use. Noticed the name, found them online and plan to order a few for the added texture that you demonstrated. Thanks so much for the great demo; can’t wait to get back on the board.

Thank you for your kind comment, here is some additional information about your interest in the stencils. This was fabulous. Just curious, with all the drying, masking and layering, how long did this take? It was mesmerizing and I just love your style. Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us…

Typically the masking can take anywhere from 30 min to 1 1/2 depending on how detailed it is. Then it must completely dry. Then pouring time about 30 minutes, Must dry again 100 percent and so on. Usually detailed pours like this take me a day or 2. If I use a heated dryer I can get them done in 3-4 hours
voiceless !!! what patience ...!!so magical !!! what is your paper ? 300g of course or more ? thanks from France

Buffy, so good! Beautiful result! My pipettes and some stencils came today so tomorrow I will try out some pouring! May i ask which sketchbook you use? Thanks! Marla

For watercolor pouring I like to tape paper to a foam board (usually Arches or Winsor and Newton 140 cold press paper) the sketchbooks I like are the cold press watercolor spiral pad by Jacksons Art and the Strathmore Visual Journals (hot and cold press)
This is your best! (Do you think you need the stencils on this one?)
@watercolorpour

completely optional.
I love how you poured with a pipette, rather than a cup. I’ve been doing watercolors for years, but I’ve stayed away from pouring. I think I need to try it! Also, can you tell me where you purchased the misting bottle? Excellent demo! Thank you!

hi Barbara, here is a video I made showing the process :: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZnWVzqSgYqWXoaQ.html
I never put my fingers into paint because many beautiful paints are toxic. So, I just use brushes or sponges.
i love it but it is difficult
