I had about the opposite thing happen one of my fellow trappers who just do it for management gives me his fur so I can skin it. He does no water trapping asked if I could hit his little pond had 6 muskrats top. I ended up catching 12

And another awesome episode. One thing covid has made it hard on hanging at HTS and learning from the folks there. They are always ready to share new ideas. Nothing like beavers man!! Where’s that beaver pounder? 😆

most farm stores carry the rods but for longer rods you might check amazon.

Does the orange flag help with attracting muskrats?

no, just makes it easier for us to find. Not too big of a deal on a pond. However, if you are trapping on a big marsh, with cattails, etc., it helps a lot.
