    Her voice is so gorgeous and light and it’s when you hear it. It just touches you in a different way all of you sound wonderful as a group and everything you’re amazing and incredible but the young lady singing when she does step in something about her voice is different. It’s special.

    Take this heart of gold, and melt it down I'll come around. I'll come around I'm treading lightly in your eyes And honey I can't live a lie But a life without you could never steal me now With so much time to spend Why paint this house again? When the floorboards creak and pull you from your slumber Well I'd hold you 'til the end But honey even oaks must bend If we intend to stick with one another. So take this heart of gold and melt it down I'll come around. I'll come around I'm treading lightly in your eyes And honey I can't live a lie But a life without you could never steal me now. Out the door and down the drive There's a part of me that tries To keep that highway's call to me away And another, further still, That sadly never will Feel at home no matter how long I may stay So take this heart of gold and melt it down I'll come around. I'll come around I'm treading lightly in your eyes And honey I can't live a lie But a life without you could never steal me now.

  • @TobyTuesday

    @TobyTuesday

    3 ай бұрын

    I agree with your sentiment about resignation…I would only further add that it is an ‘attentive’ resignation that comes when two people cast aside their individual desires enough times (after they are joined as a couple)- because some degree of sacrifice is less important than the biggest of all…being given the master and keeper of the other’s heart…. That while one’s heart is re-shaped when given to another- To never forget or take for granted those sacrifices of individual desires that the other has made and continues to make because keeping that union intact is foremost; having the other’s love is the ultimate desirous reward….. My All-Time Fav 🎵🎶… Make sure to watch/ listen to the Paste Studio performance from 11/2/2016 when they were called Mandolin Orange….🥰❤️

    I think the actual meaning of this song is far less happy than people seem to interpret. I think it's about conflicted love, wanting to stay, but also knowing that it's hard, or even run its course, and that other life awaits.

  • @rossthomas2862

    @rossthomas2862

    Жыл бұрын

    This verse gutted me the first time I heard it. It’s literal interpretation is just too poignant. I travel year round for work. I never know where I’ll be next, and I’m gone months at a time. I hate being away from my home and family. But when I’m home, I miss the road, truly. There’s something about just hopping in your pickup and going that I can’t get enough of. So my interpretation is probably a bit more literal than intended, but simply put.. I hate being away from home. I get home and I love being there with my family, but I can’t shake the feeling that I should be out there, on the road. Nothing is wrong at home, but I’m just not sure it’s where I belong. If I’m on the road all year, my house really isn’t my home anyway. It’s a lot to try to explain to the one you love, who’s waiting for you every day. This song does a way better job than I ever could.

For me I imagine the man in the video has moved to the city but still remembers a love from his small town and he is meditating trying to move past the ache in his heart.
