Born in 69 and grew up a rocker. Found Mandolin Orange a few yrs back. 1 of my very favorite bands. Watchtower is doing good music in a time when it is needed more than ever. Love the songs and the talent. They are 1st rate. Thanks from the heart. ❤

their songs make me long for something or someone. the kind of songs that I have to pull over to the side of the road because i am so wrapped up in them that i shouldn't be driving.

Daylight had spoken So clear and so plain I'm the keeper of nothing But an old flame Consuming the shadows Caught in the light Blinded by hunger And fed to the night Darling, you came to me like a dream in this endless blight My heart was reaching So tangled, entwined Like vines in the willow Serpentine killer, bound by his climbs Glory was calling She wailed and she whined Higher and higher "Leave it all behind" Darling, you came to me in the glory I'd longed to find My search was unending And my soul was bare And Darling, you came to me like a midnight flare Out of the ocean The stars had all gone My heart was broken Lost and alone Darling, you came to me like a beacon, leading me home

Really well written. The realization that the sun's gonna keep on rising no matter what you do. Carl jung said "a man's purpose is to kindle a flame in the darkness of simply being" I think mandolin orange does a good job of helping us keep that flame burning

It's so weird I used to listen to this song on Spotify and have loved it ever since but completely forgot about this when I stopped my subscription. Out of the blue, I was looking for random indie songs here on YT to add on my playlists and I saw a mandolin instrument on the recent video I watched and the phrase "Mandolin Orange" came quickly in my head. So I searched it and viola! I saw the title "Daylight" which gave such vibe like 'I've known this before'. So happy I found this song! It's so great to hear this again 🤍🤍

Some folks perhaps run from intimacy and revelation. That is their loss. Don't let their limits bother you. Some are not yet arrived. Others never will. That is not your problem by relying on their approval of your taste.
