he new MVP of the 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, point guard Vasilije Micic of Anadolu Efes Istanbul, was in for a big surprise on Wednesday when what he thought was a team meeting turned out to be a visit from Euroleague Basketball President and CEO Jordi Bertomeu with the MVP trophy, a celebration with his teammates and Efes club president Tuncay Ozilhan, and emotional congratulations messages from his father and sister.

I have a question. Serbian players usually shine or play in Turkey. This is both for basketball and for women's volleyball. for example bogdan bogdanovic,vasilie micic,nemanja bielijca,vladimir stimac,marko guduric,nikola kalinic,bojan bogdanovic,boskovic,mihajlovic,busa,popovic,ogenjevic, maybe there are other players that I don't know. why ?

@@acizkul579 all this players have carriers before and after Turkey. It's because of £€$. When yugoslavia Italy and Greece where investing in bball no-one went to Turkey.

@@igorjovovic3454 No, only players were not coming during the obradovic era. Balkan players have been playing in Turkey for years. They have been playing not only in Fenerbahce but also in Anadolu Efes Galatasaray Beşiktaş Pınar Karşıka Tofaş teams for years. Turkey has the best leagues in Europe both in basketball and volleyball, that is, it is a country with good conditions for the development of the players, as well as a good country for the development of the athletes, I can say these in Russia and Spain. Obradovic of course has a very special place for Turkish basketball, in the same way, we trust very much in igor Kokoskova.

That is just amazing. I am very happy for Vasa. He's had some hard times but he is a fighter. He has improved himself a lot in last years and I cannot think of anyone who deserves the mvp award more than him. He deserves much more and I am sure he will be very successful in NBA as well. As an Efes fan, these are bittersweet times for me because these are his last games with our team but seriously I am proud of him. Bring us the trophy Vasa!

I cried while watching this... man He had such a tough loss a few years ago. and before that when he played for bayern in my country germany I always thought that he is not a good player... his development was amazing. I'm very happy for him.

@@NYM27 Jokic is a Serb from Serbia,Luka's father is also born in Slovenia but his parents are from Serbia,from Kosovo...Luka still has relatives in Kosovo...His fathers uncle lives there. His uncle is actually the last of the Doncic family that lives in Kosovo. Other ones died or just left...after USA occupied it.
