No, he was talking about the tornado, tornados feed on gas, if there’s no gas then they dissipate. It looked like the tornado was slowing down immensely, so there may of not been enough gas in the air to sustain it. That’s why some tornados don’t form, or they form and fizzle out, not enough gas.

Awesome footage! Cool that the rain & hail you often get with tornadoes was absent on this occasion & allowed such amazing, up close clear shots.

I'm here in Texas. Seen my share of these brutes! Whoever filmed this showed pure professionalism and had respect for something that takes lives and property without mercy! I learned a lot about the speed that it can travel with churning the ground! This moved slow like the deadly one that hit Jarrell, TX a few years back. It too started off as a rope tornado....

The small funnel is still there, you just can't see it because of all the dirt its kicking up. I learned that from watching Pecos Hank's videos. I also learned that the direction of the tornado can turn on a dime and go back the way it came. When this guy started saying he was almost out of gas, I thought he was extremely lucky this tornado didn't do that.

I think they are programmed to compensate for conditions ie slippery roads or heavy wind. My guess is they would be programmed to pull over if it became so windy they were unable to stay in their lane.

It worked for Clem! You should look it up. KZread Clem Shultz. He filmed a tornado coming straight for him and survived.. At 80 years old. His wife sadly passed away. It's the scariest video I've ever seen in my life. Especially since I'm from the Midwest and not a stranger to tornados. If you hear the warning, seek shelter. Don't mess around with this stuff! 👊👊

My study has now determined that many tornados are really two in one: A Conde-nado (condensation driven tornado) and a Depot-nado (deposition*/sublimation driven tornado) A Conde-nado forms in the warmer lower part of an updraft and is driven by latent heat released by condensation. Conde-nados tend to be wide**. A Depot-nado is driven by an "engine" much higher up in very cold air and is driven by the laten heat released via deposition. At 0:37, notice that this tornado is really two tornados: A powerful white Depot-nado*** and a wider and less powerful Conde-nado just becoming visible. Awesome! *Deposition/Sublimation is the direct conversion of a gas, like water vapor, to solid, like ice. **A tornado's shape is a function of its strength, the height of its "engine," and the size, diameter, of its "engine." ***The more powerful a tornado's engine, the lower the pressure it induces below it. Hence seen here the white condensation tube of the Depot-nado.

Great video. I haven't seen any quite like it, on the subject. I certainly respect and appreciate that this crew was either very courageous or very crazy or a little of both. It stayed in the center of and straddling the road so long that I thought it was coming straight down the road to the crew's vehicle. Thanks to all involved in the production and publishing.

there have been a few incidents of storm chasers getting into car accidents actually, sometimes fatal and sometimes driving into each other because they are watching the tornado and trying to keep up with it instead of looking at the road.

Something tells me they aren't getting the safe driver discount

That's absolutely insane. What a wild weather event, i can't even fathom it. I've only seen super tiny tornadoes that don't cause any damage but they're fun to watch.

Hands down some of the most incredible tornado footage I have ever seen..

XxdarkrangerxX 48. They were in a ford explorer...that's not special equipment. Chasing tornadoes gives them a boner. Like the one I have now from watching this video. It's pretty amazing that people are so passionate and willing to get this close to danger for science and curiosity. I'm sure they are on a different kind of high during this!
