I have same caterpillar🐛 but I am worried as he slow downed his eating And also become so soft and smaller I guess what should I do? Should I keep it again on host tree?

This caterpillar only feed a certain type of leaves, in my small garden, they ate only the curry leaf, yes they eat a lot 😁😁. It's took about 2 weeks to hatch from cocoon to butterfly... Tq for your video dear.... 😁😁😁👌🏿

Thank you Ahmad kamal abdullah😊. Yes exactly... Curry leaves plant and lime plant are the host plants of this butterfly larvae... As like all other butterfly larvae, each of them have their own host plant, only those leaves the larvae can eat. 👍🏼

@@factsandknowledge3326 the life cycle of butterflies depend on their habitats, generally it is 20-25 days (from egg to butterfly) For pupa to butterfly it takes 10-15 days. Egg hatches into larvae in 4 days. Larval stage will be 2 weeks. In pupa state another 10 days. Total around one month time.

*I need help* So I have a very small lime plant in a pot and I recently discovered there are few leaves eaten, didn't give much thought to it. I just now discovered that there is a caterpillar on it just like this one. Now, I don't want to remove and consequently kill this beautiful caterpillar but I don't want my sweet plant to die either. How many leaves does this caterpillar need? how do I save my plant w/o killing caterpillar? Plant has about 80 leafs left. What do I do?

Hi friend, one line Caterpillar hardly will eat 10 to 15 leaves. Since you have 80 leaves left in your plant, seems to be no issue for your plant. Also if you have an option to collect lime plant leaves from anywhere else you can put them in a plastic bottle with wide neck and holes for better ventilation. Then you can place the Caterpillar inside the plastic bottle.

Yes Friend, application of pesticides can cause them to be killed, deformed, handicapped etc

I cried I think 4 times then the next day when I was listening to rock songs I did that because I had to make a funeral for my Tiger Swallowtail Catterpillar named: Michael Angelo

Of course dear friend, if possible keep them in big plastic bottle with lot of tiny air holes. Let the lid closed. Every day put some fresh leaves of lemon plant... Also clean the bottle every 5 days... All of them will survive and you can witness the amazing transformation 🥰🥰🥰👍🏽

Hi Affan, yes it will affect the plant health, by eating away the leaves, thus leading to reduced photo synthesis. But this is a concern only if the number of leaves are already less.

Hi friend, 7 to 10 days is the pupation period in normal conditions. In some conditions like low temperature it may be maximum 14 days. The color change will be happening just before emerging. So don't worry. Keep an eye on them, let us hope for the best 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Dear friend.. If it is in metamorphed stage( pupa stage) then don't worry. No further food required. But protect it from birds, insects, ants and other predators. Keep it in a bottle or box with holes and take to inside home. It will take 7 to 14 days to become butterfly.. So please patiently wait for that incredible transformation ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻

Hi friend... The pupa stage will be from 5 to 14 days depending upon the species. If your pupa is already crossed 14 days and if there is no color change, then hopeless... Possible chances are like parasite attacks. If we keep the pupa in open place flying insects like wasps may lay egg inside pupa by injecting. So once become pupa its safe to keep them inside house or in bottle with proper air holes... Pray for the best.. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 keep watching the same plant for more caterpillars and preserve them👍🏽🙏🏽

Don't worry friend... Before becoming pupa stage, the caterpillar stop eating... Depends on the species the number of days of this fasting varies from one to 4 days... So don't worry... Wait for the incredible transformation to pupa stage... 👍🏼

Natural color change will be there based on internal development. But if it is already more than 14 days without butterfly emerging out, then hopeless. It might be dead.

1. After continues eating, it will stop before transforming to pupa. This idle period can span from 1 to 3 days. So patiently wait for it. 2. Make sure there is a plant branch or stem for the caterpillar to hang on to undergo the transformation. 3. Some caterpillars will not hang, they pupate in the sand/soil beneath the plant. Especially moth caterpillars. So please identify the the exact caterpillar.

Surely not possible at the time of caterpillar stage. But once become butterfly identified as male. It's based on the size and slight difference in the pattern. Titles given at the time of editing after shooting all footages.
