Tails are genrally for balance. It may have a 2nd function. Trust nature not to mess around

Finally a 16 minutes video that's worth to watch.

My jaw dropped when that tail came out! I love seeing him wiggle his butt out when he is shedding another layer. What a great video!

I just noticed how frightening the world would be if you were as tiny as a bug, hearing your predators (bird) sing loudly.

i cant describe the noise of delighted surprise i made when the first egg hatched and the tail came out. those babies look so velvety soft and with the black on hot pink combo, are very fashionable bugs.

The quality of these videos is outstanding, man... don’t stop making them.

@@guilhermesantosdasilva5930 there's a difference between gut microbes eating the same food we eat for better nutritional absorption versus an insect laying its eggs on your skin crawling all over you and eating all your hair and skin only to use your toenails to cocoon itself to reach reproductive levels to lay eggs on you for the whole process to begin again! Terrifying! Gut microbes=symbiotic Puss moth=parasitic I HAVE SPOKEN!

First its eggs look like tiny oranges, then it comes out with those funny little Chibi Usa pom-poms on its head, and THEN!!! omg 😮 two enormous red streamers pop out at its tail end!!! So many metamorphoses of shape and colour!! Red, green, magenta, black, yellow...Nature is endlessly inventive 🐛 🌸😘

Look at their talents, human kids take years to walk and eat on their own😓

Right now I would like to finish a 10 year work with Papilio machaon, showing all the details of metamorphosis beginning with the onset of preparation to pupate until hatching of the butterfly in only one individual instead of using different caterpillars for each event happening. But until now it is something like expecting to win the lottery. Got a question. YT does inform you when I uploaded a new video?

@@user-xq1og4bo5u К сожалению не ядовитая. Обороняется от хищников при помощи резкого запаха, который выделяют железы на кончиках хвостовых отростков. Но это не всегда помогает.

Congrats on one of the best nature videos i have ever seen (and I have been watching them since "The Magic World of Disney" in 1954, and "Wild Kingdom" in the 1960s, and making them myself from Super 8 film (cut and splice), VHS, D8 (linear editing), Mini DV (non-linear editing) Hi Def, and now 4k). Think of the incredible software program written on this insect's chromosomes ... the molecular machines required to construct the stroma that becomes the macro-structure. The software required to make dozens of intricate systems function as a viable (pupating, flying, eating, reproducing) organism ... software that works in 3 dimensions, frontwards, backwards, skipping, splicing, repairing and reproducing itself !!! This is the hand of God.

Nature is truly amazing. First time i saw its caterpillar yesterday..it was already purple with white stripes. Big fat caterpillar never saw anything like that in my life! Cant believe when they hatch they are so small fluffy n cute . Great video thank you.
