Watch This BEFORE You Buy a 2006-2016 Chevy Impala 9C1!

the 06-16 chevy impala did everything right...it had a powerful and fuel efficient 3.9L V6 it had a comfortable and more advanced interior than many police cruisers from the time..
but there was a few things that held it back from greatness

That's odd. I must have the only good one then. I'm literally just about to send my 07 9C1 to the scrap yard tomorrow. 520k on it. original engine and transmission. The reason why I'm sending it off? Not because of the still fully functional engine and transmission... the rear driver's side fender rotted through to the trunk and my rear strut tower as a result blew out sideways as a result. She had a good run and owes me nothing. I'm not even mad.

We have 5 of these Impala interceptors in our taxi fleet. They range from 2009-2014. The 2009 one has well over 450k miles, and it's still in service. We haven't had any major issues with them. The oil is changed at every 5,000 miles, and the transmission fluid at every 25,000 miles. They are strong and reliable if you maintain them. Civilian cars will not compete with the durability of police interceptors. You can go ditch hopping in one of these, and it still be fine. Just a $50 junkyard bumper, and you're good to go.

Some people say if they came with the SS’s 4T65E-HD it would have helped but the reality is that it’s just a little stronger and LSD version of the same trans. They really should have just put in the Cadillac Northstar’s 4T80 trans from the factory

I'd recommend the police Impala over the standard one because it has better horsepower and quite possibly a better transmission. I've heard complaints about the transmissions in the 06 to 11 Impalas. But I never had a problem with the police model. The car also gets decent mileage for a V6.

You should do a before you buy on the new edge mach 1 mustang. I am almost 15 and I am strongly considering this as a first car if I am going to get a coupe, if not I'll probably get a lincoln LSV8. Love both of these cars but the shaker hood on the stang just wrenches my heart.
