I'm running lean just after Flushing all the fuel lines and replacing the fuel injectors because of getting bad gas from a gas station that had water in the tanks, now it's time to clean the O2 sensors thanks for the video

Very good tip about sensor-safe anti seize. I did not know about that.

Any changes in voltage, for O2 sensor output reading, taken by a OBD2 after installing this clean up 02 sensor?. Good if you could compare OBD2 reading for old O2 sensor before & after cleaning vs a new O2 sensor reading vs mass air flow readings in g/second for all these 3 situations. 🤔🤔🤔. Regards.

I can't imagine that a quick spray of carb cleaner could help much. I soaked mine in fuel/fuel injector cleaner for a day or more and then blew through the little holes to try to clean the inner surface. if I had an ultrasonic cleaning machine, i would have used that instead of just blowingit out after the soak.

if I was to use an ultrasonic cleaner thing, i would wire brush the crud off the outside first and probably blow off all loose stuff. Then I would use the ultrasonic. That way I would have a better idea of what was being cleaned from behind that outer covering. I don't need to be misled by the insignificant crud falling off of the 'outside'.

WD40 well enough to clean the sensor? as I don't have a ultrasonic cleaner... is thr any risk of applying curb cleaner?

Probably a bit late for this, but don't us WD40, that's a penetrating oil. I'd recommend using CRC electronics cleaner, unlike carb cleaner, it's not as harsh and won't damage the sensor, as well as it evaporates rather quickly and won't leave a residue.

Anti seize for thread of sensor.. but he says the normal anti seize melts and leaks it's way to sensor and is not good. So use the special anti seize which is sensor safe..

I was informed the one for my Toyota 4Rrunner (closest to the engine) Is $129. There are four sensors on the vehicle. I'm going to try cleaning first as this can be very costly to replace.

@@taz24787 worked good! I cleaned my 2009 yamaha r6 02 sensor with it and it ran a little better but I only ran it for a few days until my new one came in. It felt the same as the new one, thought it wasn’t in too bad of shape

Its normal, what i meant with brush, it only cleans out side, but the carb cleaner is better, because it will clean inside as well

There are precious metal coatings on the inner sensor (the outer piece is just a cover to protect the sensor) which you cannot reach with a brush.

I only clean one so it's different than the other.

I use electrical contact cleaner instead of carb cleaner. Get it in those holes and shake it. Can also dip it.

Please help , i clean it like you mentioned but after i turn the car smoke start come from the oxygen sensor like burn something and i turn off the car , is that normal? Thank you

U probably got anti-sees all over the sensor or wasn’t dry yet you probably put it in anyway

Check Engine Light Comes On. Noticeable Loss of Fuel Efficiency. Sulfur or 'Rotten Egg' smell from Exhaust. Black smoke from exhaust. Emission levels reach high levels. Your engine hesitates, skips, begins bucking or has power surges. P0300 may pop up but don’t worry misfire that’s fine

Instead of carb cleaner can you use brake cleaner instead? Thank you

The tricks on getting the o2 sensor out are great. If I go to all the trouble and am able to remove the old sensor, I'll just buy a new o2 sensor to replace the old one rather than try to clean it.

Well that was a decent video until you got to the ultrasonic cleaner. What if we don’t have that? Your video becomes moot at that point.

The best way to clean o2 sensor is to heat them with gas torch .

Once you use that cleaner in the spray can the sensor is trash. Never use any solvents on 02 sensor they will kill heater inside it
