I had the same issue on changing the strings early on with my Squier CV thin-line. I glued my string ferrules in with superglue when I changed the strings

I'v got the same guitar. But it's the Esquire version they sold a few years ago.. It's almost perfect, none of you'r negatives. The knobs and electronics are very well made.Tuners are great, stays in tune. Neck and overall feel is top. i did put a G&L MFD PU ( a Leo fender design too) in the bridge, the only pickup, The stock PU was'nt bad at all. But this one fits the Esquire with extra punch. I love, love love this guitar. Thinkin of buying the two pickup version aswell. It feels even better than most double costing Fenders i try out in my local shop. Indonesian guitars are nothing to look down up on anymore.. Very good crafted guitars come from there. Like Sire ect...

I have one but I can’t fault it and I have many guitars including American telecasters Gibson custom shops guitars. I think you probably just managed to find a dud one cause mine is perfect. Holds it tune. Sounds amazing. Ferrules stay in while changing strings. If people are really interested in a Classic video id recommend looking at more reviews. Also. Classic vibes come with a bone nut as standard!

What? Double checked specks on mine and it came with plastic nut. Surprises me alot that the same guitar can be that different🧐 Maybee I was very unlucky with mine

I picked one up at a pawn shop yesterday. Polished the frets, re-strung it, set it up, etc. Unfortunately, the Squier quality control on mine wasn't great. The high E string was at the very edge of the fret board. After trying to reset the neck as much as possible, I noticed that it's actually the bridge. It's off by 2mm or so. Annoying. Next time I restring it I'll have to fill in the current holes and reset it so that it's centered. It still plays well right now though.

Thanks😂 Had a brain fart and took me hours to remember what it was called😂 Well cheap or expensive, it’s not okey that they just fall out. They can easily bounce under the coach and you’ll never find them again🤦‍♂️

Well done, besides it's faults, it still sounds nice and you seem to be still enjoying it? I have a few squier teles -one has tuning stability issues even after changing the tuners... but I play it a lot still and it sounds good - another I'm not happy with the pups so may look into changing those. to be fair with the ferrules I've had them fall out on an American made fender (which went back to the shop).... Cheers 😎

First it’s not a cheap plastic nut… it’s bone. Second tuning stability is almost always a result of the string’s binding in the nut…easily fixed with pencil lead or nut sauce and perhaps a bit of filing on the nut to create the proper break angle. It’s never the tuners fault either if you install the string correctly… sufficient winds…locking wrap technique. Before you trash something it’s important to know what you’re talking about. Mine stays in tune like a champ. I did have a couple of issues…B string was doing the sitar thing but was fixed by switching to brass saddles and the volume pot was defective ( very weird but was replaced on warranty). I think you still have to remember that these are budget guitars that may require a few tweaks but they are still a good bang for the buck.

If you read the comment section here you will find that everyone has different experience with this guitar, so probably inconsistent quality controll. I reviewed the guitar I had in hand and I was very honest with it. Yes, I dobbel checked the nut now, turns out it’s accually bone. Witch surprises the hell out of me cus the guitar I got wouldn’t stay in tune what so ever. Slightest hald step bend, boooom out of tune.

So yes, I stand corrected on the nut. But the guitar I got (ordered from gear4music.com) was shite.

@@Fishingandbrew So once again… even if it’s a bone nut that is not cut properly you will have tuning issues. This is a simple problem to fix. Quality control has been an issue for years… not just with Squier. Fender has had the same issues as well as many other manufacturers. When buying a budget guitar I think minor issues are to be expected. For a lark a few years back I bought a very cheap Tele knock off just to see how bad they were. I wasn’t disappointed.. the thing had multiple issues. Sharp fret ends.. a couple of high frets.. poorly cut nut…terrible action… horrible intonation. I’m no luthier but I’m not afraid to get in and have a go at fixing stuff. Spent the afternoon addressing those issues and ended up with a very playable instrument with a minimum of tools required. Yes you get what you pay for but many playability issues are easily resolved by doing a bit of research.

I agree. I enjoyed playing this guitar and one of the nicest looking guitars I’ve come across. But she kept going out of tune faster than any guitar I’ve ever played in my life. And I know what I’m talking about I’ve been in bands and have been playing for 45 years. But there’s something about the way it played. Couldn’t stop thinking about it the next few days…

All your complaints: Tuning machines, nut and loose ferrules can be easily fixed. Why haven't you done that instead of just complaining about them? I have found these same problems on American made Fenders. So, I would rather deal with these on a Squier than on a Fender that I paid $1000 more for.

Simple answer. Because I wanted to make an honest review so that people know what they can expect before buying it. It’s easy fixes yes, but parts falling out is just something that should never happen.

Hi, sorry but I totally do not agree with you. For the money it is a great guitar. If I look around on YT , you are probably the only one who gives a negative resume on this topic I own one myself which I have bought for € 250 ! changed the saddles into brass and that's it , wonderfull sound if comparing with a real Telecaster , difficult to say

Guitars at all price points can have problems just because yours does doesn't mean everybody else's does, you obviously got a bad one. And also when you said it plays like a squire well what does a squire play like ,some play better than guitars far more expensive. Not trying to have a go,just saying.

I Get your point, but I will not Lie about the guitar I got just in case another could be better. Truth is this guitar was terrible and I said it like it was. I probably should have been more clear when I said «it plays like a Squier. I like the squiers feel and playability and their neck profiles, so it was ment as a pro, not a con.

I would not buy this awesome looking Squier guitar, unless I'm willing to - change the pickups - replace the string ferrules - replace the tuners - replace the pots and switch - pay for a professional setup and at that point, I'm paying more than double the original price of the guitar.

If you knew much about Squires, you would realize that every guitar is not a affinity or a bullet stratocaster I have a 1983.S q three volt neck seventies.the Japanese Squires were built so good Fender put a stop to it..because they made the US guitars look bad then..
