@@theguitaristas it's hard to tell from the video, but I'm pretty sure that is blonde white. Any pink tint is almost certainly due to the pine rather than the finish. Once applied, a lot of wood makes finish appear to change color. Personally, I think that the color is fine, but the weight alone is definitely enough to warrant sending it back.

A few months ago I went into a guitar store near me and they had Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster and Esquire, both butterscotch. I tried them both extensively in the store and went back and forth a bunch of times to compare the two. I wound up buying the Esquire and I absolutely love it. I can't remember noticing a weight difference but I felt like the Esquire had a twangier sound, and I didn't really miss not having the neck pickup. It just felt better overall for some reason. Very happy with my decision. Plays and sounds like a much more expensive guitar. If you see one around, grab it!

I have the same model in TV Yellow or butterscotch blonde I think they call it. I love it. The pickups are great, fret work impeccable. Only negative is the weight, which came as a surprise to be honest, but pine body to capture that early 50's Tele vibe so to be expected I guess. Honesty one of my favorite guitars in my collection.

I've had my hands on a 2017 classic vibe tele in butterscotch and it was a thing of beauty. It had a quarter sawn flame maple neck and sounded really hot. Squiers do have inconsistencies with their colors though. I specifically do not like the pickguard! A good custom shop relic white blond (see through) 50s tele is not perfectly white either, nor is it pink! and makes for the best looking finish on a telecaster imho.

Be fair, that’s probably not a bad price for 10lb of salmon ;-) Not in white nor as affordable, but my recent search for a t shaped object saw me eventually wind up with a vintera road worn 50s that I’m really happy with. Minor snags (nut wanting a little more tlc) and the finish relic (bit stark and to template but a bit of time playing hard and putting back wet should solve) aside I can’t fault it. The worn neck especially makes it feel great to play. Could be an interesting one for you to review or compare against other Fender/Squier for where it sits price wise and is trying to offer

I have the CV 50s in white with a black guard. The color appears to be a pearl essence white. I dropped in a Seymour Duncan quarter pound tele bridge pickup, and a Gibson p-90 in the neck. New Emerson wiring, and pots. As Is my regular custom I put in a 4 way switch. Mine came with a bone nut. I didn’t care for the steel barrel saddles, and replaced them with large brass ones. Locking tuners completed the build. It’s now one of my favorite telecasters.

I got the butterscotch version and I'm happy with the color. It is on the heavy side but not 10lbs! Although I haven't had a chance to really dial it in and play it yet, it seems to have a darker tone than I expected that's compared to my American Performer Stratocaster. So a pickup change may be in it's future.

i have a classic vibe 50 from 2008... it has a nice white finish. looks really nice and seems to have slightly yellowed over the years. if at all there is a hint of minty green in that white. it is kind of heavy but more in normal les paul territory. havent actually weighted it, but i would guess it around a weight of 4kg. feels a little heavy compared to a strat but no big deal and certainly no 10 pound deal

I have one and it was a very Platinum Blonde at first and after a few months the pink came out and I was very disappointed because it sounded and played so good like really good. I brought it to a local luthier here in NYC and he told me possibly because of the pine the translucent color isn't looking as I expected, he said pine comes in a lot of shades and eventually turns a light shade almost a pale grey say like a fence does over time. Anyway I have it a couple of years now and it did change to a nicely faded wood tone and the finish is now out standing as they really put that platinum streak on it like they did in the past. so it's a keeper, did I say it sounds and feels great. Thanks for all the fun shows. btw we have very similar taste in guitars style wise and price.

I bought the same one as my first electric guitar, and I love the slight pinkishness, the weight and the transparency of the finish (I love how the 3 "poorly matched" pieces of wood create a few dark stripes). Many years ago I had a mid '70s Tele and the body shape drove me crazy with that top bout coming down one fret closer to the nut. Hahahahaha......I'm so shallow :-) I get why people love Squier Classic Vibes and I love my Esquire but I think one of the areas where Squier fall short of Fender is consistency. When they're great they're great but thay can be heavy and see through finishes can be hit and miss. That Squier you're sending back is over 1lb heavier than my 2005 Les Paul Standard. I don't blame you. I couldn't live with it.

I was told that White Blonde only really looks 'right' over an ash body, I love white telecasters too and had a conversation with Warmoth about this and apparently a very large percentage of their 'complaints' about colour finish comes from people having this finish over different woods. Quality guitars for the money and tone but I would note to anyone else thinking of purchasing one that I got an Indonesian one and the fretwork was poor. Three dented frets, sharp edges and one popping up. just purchased a CV 50s butterscotch coloured, one of the best guitars I´ve ever played, speaking of course in its Tele category. Quite a few "details" to watch for though, like the Alnico pickups which require EQ, because they are crystal clear sounding and some people want some native distortion or colour and these pickups are powerful yet pristine. The guitar begs being played, or tamed perhaps, until it starts to show its character. Lots of sustain, thanks to a wonderful neck, the best, coupled to a massive body. I sincerely hope it ages well. I´ve purchased a sturdy hard case for her. A Tele, what else?

I have nothing to say about the performance of the guitar. because playing so good. I also bought one 50's vibe white blonde. It is made in China in 2020 and the body is not in pieces, it is like a single piece, especially the texture of the tree from the back body is a single piece. There is no clear joining line anywhere on the guitar. Regarding the color, I can say that it is ivory cream, maybe a little bit light pink. But I am very pleased with its tone. This color is a translucent white underwood tone result.

I have a CV 50s tele in butterscotch, had it ten years, I wont every get rid of it. Had a couple of others since including a MIA and they are all sold. None were as good as the CV nor had the authentic sound. When I got the CV, the only issue was a slightly protruding 5th fret which would occassionally snag the high E, but I just filed and buffed it back and it was perfect. No buzzing frets, electrics are great. Sounds like Keef.

Definitely did the right thing, my opinion. It's not what you wanted or ordered. Holding them accountable is how to get them to tighten up. I have owned several different Squier guitars including 5 variations of the Classic Vibe Series. I really hate it that Squier discontinued their Standard Strat and Telecaster. Way better guitars in my personal experience. At this time I own a 2000 model Squier Standard Stratocaster and its full scale and full size body. It's better than a few of my old MIM Fender Stratocasters. Just my 2 bits...thank you so much for your very enjoyable channel and I'm so glad I found it. Steve O in Florida

It amazes me how when someone points something out to you, you start noticing it everywhere! I've been thinking on buying a Telecaster for some time, but I wasn't sure it was the guitar for me, so, I started looking at some video reviews of this exact model. When I saw this video I thought "well, this guy got a dud, I've seen this guitar many times on videos, and it is transparent white, not pink" After watching this video, I went back to see the other video reviews I've found of this guitar, and now THEY ARE ALL PINK! I still like the guitar, tho, I don't mind the "pinkish" color at all, but it is funny how I never noticed it until this video. I would have loved a proper review of the guitar sound and quality despite the color, but I understand you were planning to sending it back and there was no point in taking it apart.

Around Xmas 2020 I sent back two that exact same ugly pinkish color, a 50's Tele and 60's Strat, both classic vibes. They were both made in China but Fender was advertising them as coming from Indonesia. I ordered them directly from Fender's website. The Tele was horrible in just about every way imaginable & the Strat looked ok but had a non-functioning truss rod. I also sent back a Fender Classic Player 60's Strat earlier in that same year because of terrible build quality. If I recall correctly though, the classic vibe tele was quite a featherweight. On the other hand, I've just now picked up a very nice & really cheap on eBay 2021 Squier Bullet hardtail Strat in a (nice to me) Tropical Turquoise with a mostly flamed, dark fingerboard neck that I intend to heavily modify. The build quality, fit & finish etc. on it is exceptional!

I had initially wanted the "white" one but photos on Sweetwater scared me off. It didn't look right and I kept thinking maybe it is the photos? Still, I began to reconsider the appeal of the classic butterscotch and went with that. I'm glad I did as this confirms my worst fears about the other color choice. White that is not in any way. I am very happy with my Classic Vibe Tele although in my case the tuners were awful unfortunately so I replaced them hipshot Grip-lock tuners and I am quite happy with that upgrade. Otherwise, the other unfortunate thing in my case was the setup was so bad the guitar was literally unplayable out of the box. It wasn't the end of the world and I wanted 10's on it anyway so I just took care of that and now it's a great guitar that fit my limited budget. I like it very much. Great playing for the ending by the way. Be glad I will pay more attention now else I would be leaving you a book here. 😃

For what it's worth, I believe all "white blonde" 50s teles do have that slightly see-through, slightly pink-hue white color. If I google "fender white blonde" it shows me a bunch of (more expensive) fender strats finished in that strange color. I do agree Olympic or Alpine White look way better. It was white and had a great natural reliced look. I think it might have been stolen at some point prior to me buying it because the neck plate was missing (that's where they put the serial # then), and there were no ink markings on the end of the neck, which is unusual. I had it refretted, put in a 5-way switch and a Dimarzio stacked humbucker in the bridge. I traded it for a car. The car's long gone, but I wish I still had the Strat!
