That sounds too much like mob rule. I'd rather require that anyone who is inaugurated wins both the electoral & popular vote. If nobody wins then we repeat the process until someone does so each POTUS represents a real majority. Also, the SCOTUS is never to proclaim one candidate wins over another: that is literally legislating from the bench, by determining who leads the legislature.

Wasn't the question before SCOTUS whether or not a POTUS has total immunity? Not to dissect and split hairs about which acts are considered official duties and those which are personal acts? That debate could go on for eternity. It's a cut a dry answer. A POTUS does not have TOTAL immunity.

The MAGA--orientated SCOTUS know that sending this back to the lower courts so they have to debate which acts were private and which were official will save Trump if not forever (if he wins election) then at least for a few years. That will inspire their rich sponsors to give them more hand-outs, free holidays etc. SCOTUS know that the constitution insists that every official is liable for prosecution for illegal acts that are carried whilst holding office but the Trump followers wanted to pretend they had to seriously think about this and allow debate to occur around it before stating the bleeding obvious.

The only one that can save you, is yourself and your fellow Americans. Voters and non voters. This is a democracy. We are in this situation because of the American voters and non voters. No one is coming to save US. That is what a democracy is. We have the power with our vote(s). Whether we appreciate that power or not. The American people continue to vote, or not vote, for the evangelical republican cult, that has been subverting our democracy since Reagan was overwhelmingly elected by a majority of American in 1980. Even with his clearly telling us that the evangelical republican plan was Trickle Down Economics, where the born rich wealthiest few get tax cuts and then their increased wealth will trickle down to the working class masses (which is just plane stupid on its face) and that the evangelical republican party would end Roe vs Wade. Reagan and republicans promised that in 1980. And the American people cheered it on and voted for it. And have been voting for it ever since, every single time they elect the evangelical republican party into power.

I am reminded as we place SCOTUS under discernment… and all things ethics… Ms Brown asked the wise, sane and pragmatic questions. However i thought at the time of his appointments of several judges to the supreme court, that at some point in the future he would ask for a favour, for appointments for lifelong jobs. Supreme Court has failed completely. We need justices to have term limits and solid rules for Justice behavior with strict oversight. Chief Justice has been a big part of this failure.
