I'm old enough to have seen the last games of Beckenbauer, Cruijff, Maradona and other legends of their time. This player is unique because he's doing his utmost best and plays for the game, to win. Not for his ego, not for the "statistics", not for the records. If the ball has to go that way, he will send it that way, without hesitating to think "will that make me popular?". He has never risked a chance to score himself if a teammate is in a better position. And I've watched almost all his games since his debut in 2005. Just try to imagine world football the next day after he retires. "Enjoy him while he is here".

i like his style but that was not a good pass near the goalie especially when defence are tight, a perfect pass should be slow, if high a header ball if low a grass ball. his pass was neither a high nor low hard to control when you have 3 defender marking you

Alba was aware that he will pull 2 defender and already spotted messi 1-2-1-2 so 4 around messi but as you can see the 4 defender was spread out and left a big space around him. If messi would have been closer he could touch with his chest and power through. You can see he was about to swing for a shot and changed his mind when he realized that the defender caught up and is blocking his left foot(amazing body control from messi) since he held the ball to long and had to find another way. Dont get me wrong that was a great pass from him but if that was in EU or a team like Cin fc it would have been tackled away. Hence the urgency from albas touch. Pause when busi passes on alba he touches it and you will see that play, i believe that was the A plan.

@@laryxislust6664 Well, that was because Busquest's pass was high and Alba had to adjust and contain his run before the pass to avoid being offside ! If he did not try the acrobatic he would not be able to reach the ball and complete the pass to Messi!

You can see that Messi is literally teaching them football. Passes, tikki takka, positioning, creating chances... incredible.

His vision and reflex is just out of this world. Cremaschi raised his hand seconds before Messi crossed the ball to him while keeping 4 defenders from taking the ball. It takes alot of talent to do what he just did.
