I think a lot of watch enthusiasts dream of being able to walk into a great watch store and purchase their own ideal watch collection all at once. In this video, I go shopping at Borsheims in Omaha, Nebraska in an attempt to build the perfect watch collection in under thirty minutes with a pretty serious budget of $25,000.

Well-informed indeed. I’ve been to many ADs even where I feel like i should teach the salesperson about things (I wouldn’t since I’m generally not a jerk :) ) but she knows watches. And that store, WOW with the amount of top brands, and also including the “little guys” like Shinola and even some quartz watches. I could spend all day there!

What a gracious and knowledgeable lady. I was also impressed that when she would offer a fact that I know you have memorized, you were very much a gentleman in the way you let her shine (she really did know her stuff) without feeling the need to one-up her as an expert in the hobby. @@stuartb9982 Perhaps he could have, via a voice-over or by way of added text to the video in post-production. It was still very a very polite action. @daveausmunchen7787

@@eseskay99 No it is not the only way and there’s a quite logical reason for it. Whilst the Lecoultre part is from Switzerland and within the country the French part (though still most speak German) it is to be pronounced French. However, the Jaeger part of the name comes from the Elsass region, which has been French and then German and French again and German again,.... is to be pronounced German. Given most of the cities names some might argue that Germans occupation was more influential, but that’s totally up to debate and depends on who you ask Despite being born whilst it was French, the Family Jaeger still was German as the names suggests. His mother had the name Weber, which means weaver and especially considering family names come from professions it is very likely that she is from a German family, as does the name Jaeger which translates into hunter. Back in the day there was no „Ä“ so „AE“ was the Common German spelling whilst still pronouncing it German. So there’s a reason why the company says both is fine, French does sound a bit more romantic, but it’s also pretentious to assume it is wrong to pronounce watch brands in a German way. After all the Swiss do speak German and a lot of luxury watch brands are from a German speaking country.
Unbelievable. I just happened to be in this exact scenario. I have $25,000 and not much time but I want to buy a whole watch collection in one go. There is a KZread video for everything.

This was a fun one! I think you could do a lot with a format like this. For example, you could follow my collection rules - 1 watch per brand, and you have to get the most iconic watch from each brand, but only one "type" of watch each in a collection, like 1 diver, 1 pilot watch, 1 dress, etc.
Haven’t seen an AD this well stocked in a LONG time. Also, next time get the Zenith.
dang what a store/AD! they have it all. I would have gone with the Seamaster and the Zenith Chronomaster. I think the Omega Speedy FOIS, Breitling Heritage II, and Cartier Santos are not that nice in comparison to the other options available in the store. If you are going for a dive watch, lume is key and the Heritage II does not seem to have a lot of it, especially in comparison to the Seamaster.
