Alec Baldwin on trial for "Rust" shooting - Day 1

The first law enforcement member to arrive on the set of the film “Rust” the day cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed took the stand at Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial Wednesday.
Nicholas LeFleur, a former Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputy, testified that when he arrived, people were “running everywhere,” making his job challenging. He estimated there were at least 100 people at the scene.

Anyone who thinks he is not guilty you should think about this: if it were you, a non-celebrity, do you think you would get off after aiming a gun directly at the victim then claiming you did know it had live ammo and later lie about pulling the trigger on national TV. Innocent people don't lie unless you know you are guilty and attempted to buy your way out of it

According to your worldview they would be still shooting Saving Private Ryan, if actors were responsible for the props How many rounds they shot in that film, machine guns, tanks and all 😂Safety people handle safety, actors act. People seem to have lost sense of reality. These are strange days

Prosecution is completely disorganized. You cannot use a crime scene technician to explain in detail differences between live cartridges, dummies and blanks unless he or she are also qualified as firearms examiners. You need to put a firearms examiner first to do that then you can proceed to collection of evidence in some orderly manner.

Defense already admitted in their opening statement that actors act so when the scene calls for pulling the trigger that is what they do. They completely rely on the armorer or a prop master to hand them a "cold" gun that is not loaded with live ammunition. Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger - period. The only question is what was his obligation if any to make sure that there are no live rounds in this revolver. You could establish a common practice in the movie industry by calling on other directors/producers/actors to show what the practice is.

@@mecenas107 the fact is that if they can prove that he pulled the trigger, then prosecution has a great chance to win: since it was during a blocking rehearsal, he was never supposed to pull on the trigger ESPECIALLY since the gun pointed directly at the DP and was very close to the camera.
