Watch the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard verdict announcement here live at 3pm ET | 12pm PT.
After a U.S. judge rules to continue Johnny Depp's libel suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, Heard's legal team is presenting their case with forensic psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes as the first witness and Amber set to take the stand in her defense this week. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over an opt-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse" and Johnny claims her article defamed him and cost him Pirates 6.

from what i did see of the trial as i did not watch it in its entirety, the only personal person who testified on her behalf was her sister. the rest were paid "experts". as for the sister, if what depp testified regarding amber's relationship with her sister then that is a very abusive dynamic that has probably been going on for a long time.

Yes! Same with sexual abuse. People think men can’t be raped or molested because they’re physically stronger. What they fail to understand is that men can be pressured and manipulated into doing things they aren’t comfortable with despite their physical strength. That’s why men report rape FAR less than women. They’re told they can’t be raped in the first place… Or their molestations are treated as jokes. Talk about not being believed…😒

I have so many things to say... 😤 I'm glad the jury found JD innocent. It was impossible that they couldn't see through her lies! Every time she was being interrogated she was acting like victim, pretending to cry!! But when JD was the one being interrogated and having hard time she was literally smiling and smirking!!! Wft!! Why aren't you smiling now AH?? Then, AH basically said that he won because he's powerful...?????... he's been a public figure since the late 80's I think, and yes, he's been a troubled person.. but it's literally not possible that absolutely any of his previous partners or even co-workers has any complaints of him about being aggressive or abusive.. it seems that AH just wanted to finish with his career and his reputation! It's true that some people puts out the worst of us, but I highly doubt someone will turn as evil as she described JD.. I hope JD takes a very looooog brake from women and focus on rebuilding his career.. it's true he deserves to be happy but he also need to completely over come his addictions.. Also, she said to everyone everything she wants is JD to leave her alone.. let's see if she will be able to move on after this.. or she will continue with her victim role.. And lastly, I really hope this is the end of AH career.. I seriously I cannot believe someone would still want to work with her.. this woman really seems to be a psychopath and I really pity her daughter, I hope that someone with the full capacity of her senses can take care of that baby .

In Virginia, an injured person can recover up to $350,000 in punitive damages if the defendant acted with “willful and wanton negligence.” Whereas compensatory damages (which are not capped) are meant to make the injured person whole, punitive seek to punish the wrongdoer and deter others from similar conduct. She’s gonna waste her money if she does and appeal. With those kind of hand downs from the jury there’s just no way that she’s ever going to sway another jury in her favor. No way. She’s young and she has the rest of her life it’s going to be difficult for JD to pick up the pieces but he will because he has enough love and support from all over the world and he’s going to become more famous and do more films than he ever dreamed of. He’s gained his respect and open up his heart and let the world see who he was and that’s hard for a private person to do. He deserves happiness for the rest of his life. And she needs to pay with karma for what she did to this man.

Appeals are not court trials like we just saw. They go in front of a group of judges, (about 3-5 or so) and plead their case, then it's up to the judges to decide. They still have to pay them, but it wont be long and drawn out because they're not allowed to bring in any new evidence, and it's got to be ONLY on what was presented during this trial.

The problem was it was too specific and speculative. She “made two calls to 911, messed the place up and got her story straight under a publicist and lawyer team”. Then the cameras seem to show there wasn’t two calls just that the police happened to hear the call from the first one and show up later. Either way a win for Johnny and that doesn’t prove anything.
