I didn't break any laws along this path I've skated across barriers designed to hold me back I'm just trying to go home Where the love is loud and the smiles are warm, Like the sunsets that comfort me In the coldest of my storms I'm just trying to go home I hear the sirens, I see the flashing lights The directions are clear Black skin go left, blue skin go right I'm just trying to go home Don't I deserve to feel safe? But batons, badges, boots, bright lights Against my face I'm just trying to go home Does anyone hear the pain in my cry The struggle in my breath God replied, "Come Home, My son, now you can REST!" 😭My brother lost his life to violence...a victim of an unjust crime, who received no immediate medical attention or justice from those placed in positions to "protect and serve". I am so grateful, I know JESUS, WHO IS THE ONLY ONE WHO TRULY SAVES us from the evil and corruption in this world, for this is not our home...I pray HE continues to bring peace, strengthen, comfort, restore, and heal, not only this family, but ALL families that have lost a loved one...LOSS of any kind is difficult, but to lose someone due to injustice...it truly takes The Love and Forgiveness that can only come from THE HOLY SPIRIT...if you don't know HIM, I pray that you experience a DIVINE ENCOUNTER with HIS LOVE...some people will NEVER understand pain like this until it hits their OWN home. I pray we all continue to pray for this family and so many other families impacted by the injustices of this world...Find it not strange, on the 7th day this incident occurred (7 is the number of completion - the completion of his divine assignment as his mother stated - a mother knows)...3 days later he died (just as Jesus rose again on the 3rd day and God turned His Death for THE GOOD of US ALL...God Himself is 3-The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (still ONE GOD: JESUS - THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE) - my mom always said the number 3 represents that GOD IS IN the situation)...on the 10th day he left this life (10 is the number of Testimony). Tyre Nichols' life will not be in vain...his life is a TESTIMONY that GOD will use in a MIGHTY WAY...God is SO INTENTIONAL down to even numbers...RIP Tyre, now you can REST from the pain of this life in PARADISE🙏

I'm crying as watch this beautiful and heartfelt service. It is truly heartbreaking that such a kind, gentle, and creative young man was taken from this earth too soon and in such a barbaric manner. Not only did the 5 police officers involved, 6th, if you include Preston Hemphill, rob this beautiful man of his life, but they, through their lies, also robbed him of any comfort and sympathy as he sat dying, propped up against a police car. I hope the first responders and others involved are deeply ashamed of their actions and behavior. Rest in peace, Tyre. Your light still shines.

This has touched a lot of hearts black and white. We're all human beings and by that being said God's children. There should NEVER be a senseless killing of how this man died. I have children (men) his age and I just couldn't imagine what this family is going through. May God rest his soul and I believe he is in the higher clouds. Only Satan would have this done, not God. I'am a grandmother of a 16year old grandson and to hear my daughter say she sat on the toilet for 30min. And cry. That only because she's raising a young black man I felt her pain. My deepest condolences goes out to the entire family. Stay blessed 🙏

Lord give them the strength and wisdom to carry on through life, and Tyree he is in a better place, and the Lord is going to take wonderful care of him. He don’t have to worry about this hateful, devilish world anymore and you best believe them policeman‘s. They are going to get was coming to them. Last year I repented to God then begged for help, "I was until then an Atheist." I then had a dream of Jesus coming before God and he spoke of the Tabernacle in perfect context, "A word I didn't know existed.", and what I felt from Jesus when I held him was unlike anything I've ever felt before - A lifetime of Love every second - It brought me to sobbing and it changed my life, forever. I've had other experiences since, "Several witnessed", one was seeing a bright orb of light pass across my face in the dark, hours before a major surgery the second I gave up in my heart. Know that God and Jesus ARE real and that they Love us deeply. Let go of your hatred and Imagine yourself holding the people who've hurt you. Tell them you Love them. Always have hope, I believe that prayer, following God's laws & Love is the answer, and through that, becoming humble, merciful, welcoming, giving, and forgiving, To All.

Lord have mercy. So sad, so senseless ❤️RIP

I am at a loss for words at this moment, but I will say what I need to say coming from my heart. I am an African-American. These officers have brought disgrace upon my race. I don’t want them being arrested for second-degree murder to be the last word, I want them found guilty and have them serve this sentence in its entirety. It doesn’t matter if the officers were a person of color, white, or of another ethnic background I just want justice again to the family you have my deepest condolences and you will have my prayers through this ordeal, I may not be able to be a Al Sharpton or the vice president, but I can be a voice and I will be. You will not be fighting this battle alone. So may the grace of God be with you and bring forth comfort! I love you, Tyre and I’ve never even met you, but I love you for the person that I’ve learned you today!

I'm overwhelmed with emotion. The homegoing service for Tyre Nichols definitely touched my heart. Crying throughout the ceremony brought memories back to a time when our people seemed so bonded together for our civil rights. Starting with Tiffany Rochelle, the mother of a slain son who sang with heartfelt compassion "Total Praise,' to the choir who also sang wonderfully. The speakers spoke encouraging words of hopes for change; however, I could feel Rev. Sharpton's message the most. I too was in the era when activist strongly fought for our civil rights with bodily harm and sometimes death. It never dawned on me that Memphis was the same place where Dr. King was slain until today because I was so into the circumstances that occurred to Tyre, this should be a wakeup call to us all but I'm sure others recognize it like Rev. Sharpton bought it to my attention. I pray those BRUTAL COPS & their families tuned in to this message. WHAT A REPRIMAND! Rev. Sharpton has always been on point in showing support for the rights of the mistreated, abused & the violated and Mr. Ben Crump as well. I care not to hear ANYTHING negative about Rev. Sharpton because he has stood the test of time in the midst of these trials and deaths alongside Mr. Crump & I want to send my THANK YOU. I will say that even in this situation God is indeed good. He allowed this to happen for His reason, but will we get it, will we see it, or will the reason be overlooked and missed again? I'm trying right now to see the lesson to be learned from this horrible event & I pray my eyes will be opened to the truth so I may share it with others. How long will it take for the hearts of men to see that we are "supposed" to be our brother's keeper but appears as though we are too stiff-necked & selfish. Nothing & nobody means anything unless it's glamorous, hipped or fashionable. We spend millions of dollars on celebrities glorifying & bringing them wealth & fortune, putting them on pedal stools & trying to keep up with the Jones' but care not to give anything physically or financially for a worthy cause. There's a misconception of life! How long will this go on? The majority of the new generation is moving farther away from God & His standards as has previous generations. I sit back and imagine what the world will be like once these trailblazers and the OGs are gone. But then I remember that God always has a ram in the bush. His promises are true & His Words will not return to Him void. So, I'm thankful for the younger generation who has heard the call and taken the baton to run this race in continuing to fight on behalf of all that is evil and wrong, even fighting for those who don't care. I pray the wisdom and strength of God will give them the courage to fight the "good fight of faith" and that they will receive rewards for their labor and efforts! I'm still sending out prayers on behalf Tyre's family and friends. May God continue to bless you with comfort, console and strengthen you during your time of bereavement and in the coming days ahead, amen.

@@ednajackson2990 I too am 64 years old and I think on a daily basis of what will happen when im gone and my only son who is 47 and grandkids. I can only pray that they be safe and live a life without violence. Breaks my heart in these times when there are so many parents that have to bury their children. I do believe that we are in our last days. Lord have Mercy on us all.
