My step dad is 100 yrs old. He fought on the ground during the Battle of Normandy. A tank fell on the left side of his body. His comrades labored to dislodge the tank from his body. On 2017 he was honored by the French Goverment at th Sheraton Hotel with what is the French Government’s equivalent to our Purple Heart, a ceremony and an impressive certificate.. So proud of him we are for his fortitude, bravery, gumption . He along with the other men and women afforded us our Freedom which we now enjoy. LEONARDO AVILES, WE TAKE OUR HAT OFF TO YOU. Chapeau!

Remember these men and women not only in this theatre and this day years ago but, all of the men and women throughout history that found themselves at the very tip of the spear and driven by a self imposed moral obligation to do what was right. If we wish to honor them and their sacrifices...genuinely honor them, we collectively and unanimously must with every strength we have ...fight with a "total war" mentality and zero-tolerance against those who threaten the lives and well-being of any country and it's peaceful citizens. Here we find ourselves even today staring down the barrel of the VERY SAME script with but a different actor. And that's history...same story, different actors and still..a foot-dragging, begrudging and half-measured response to just another bully. Thank you to my grandparents Bernard Bennett and Paul Miller for both having served their country in this war when the worlds future was indeed black.

I can't imagine being that age and decided to risk everything you have including your life for the ideology you believe in and for the lives of others, most of them you have never met before. I guess that's why I'm not a hero but they all are/were. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I promise that your bravery will not be forgotten. I will make sure that the generations after me will learn about all the stories and sacrifices you all have done. That's the least I can do for you all.

My great Uncle was actually at D Day itself and almost did exist afterwards. What had happen was he was on one of the boats approaching the beaches. When they came under fire from the German defenses. One of the deterrents against the allies hit his boat and blew it up. I forgot what hit them, or if anyone managed to survive, but regardless he was never found. Eventually they just chalked in up to another loss, what can you do. Though I think since his body was never recovered he was MIA, again I don’t remember all the details. However two weeks later he was found alive in a British hospital. Apparently what happened was when the boat was struck by the German defenders, he was thrown out of the boat into the water. He got picked up and sent to a hospital for recovery. He actually managed to still see some action fight in a ally tank. The father of a friend of my dad also found in WW2. But he and some others got captured by the Nazis. He was taken to a slave camp where every day, he would walk to a nearby farm and do manual labor all day and then walk back to the camp. Never with a guarded escort because there was literally no where to go and they’d kill him if he did. And that all he experienced in the camps, it only ended when the Allies turned up and freed the camp.

So much is at risk that all these young people bled and died to protect .. I pray the sacrifices are remembered and more importantly the reason they were willing to go at all even knowing how it was gonna be .. they understood it was the hope of the world that they fought for . Biden is the most corrupt president ever and he and his family have gotten tens of millions of dollars from Russia, Iraq, Ukraine, China and other countries that aren't our friends in exchange for policies that benefit those countries. Read Peter Schweizer's books and watch Miranda Devine and get enlightened. Trump hasn't gotten a penny from any of those countries.

What a beautiful human. 🥲 He made me think that people have been listening to their elders tell stories since the beginning of time, but THIS group of elders has a story like no other. These are the last of them, and soon they will all be gone. I hope they are always remembered.
