Watch Brooklyn-based artist Hugh Hayden recontextualize everyday objects

Фильм және анимация

At the core of Brooklyn-based, Dallas-born sculptor Hugh Hayden’s works is the concept of the American dream. ‘I’m thinking about the American dream as this sort of desirable place that you’d like to be, but it’s also a difficult space to inhabit,’ he says in this latest episode of ‘Meet the artists.’

I work with a lot of African refugees. They always have so many questions about American culture and the big one is the concept of the "American Dream". I still cannot explain it. Is it a trap or does it give inspiration and hope?
