He reveals the answer in his descriptions of the objects- Go back to the statue. He describes it as introverted, introspective, severe, narcissistic, maudlin. He repeatedly uses the word severe to describe things. He says he knew he wants to live in stone. He can express things so eloquently not because it’s inherently deep or complex or difficult, but because he lives his truth and has an honest relationship with himself and the things he owns is merely an extension of himself. If we all lived out truth, no matter how different or weird or pseudo intellectual it might seem, we would be able to be as eloquent
There’s a juxtaposition of Rick Owens and the Rick Owens Customer that I find interesting, the people who appreciate his art are typically maximalist, and he has such a minimalist approach to life

Can we please talk about the fact that even those two firearms he just has randomly lying around are ironically some two of the most aesthetic and well known firearms in gun-history. I remember living in Paris France around the 90’s. I worked at a café that Mr. Owens would frequent quite often. I recall running into him a few times and would talk about art , life, and I told him that he would achieve anything his mind was determined to accomplish. And he laughed and we went along our way. And none of this is true.
Watching this made me feel extremely calm. When he speaks I feel like my soul awakens and there’s an overwhelming epiphany that I don’t need much of anything to just be.
