The change from levity to seriousness was seamless, the way he moved from laughing and poking fun at himself and the press into congratulating them, reassuring them, and adding a call to action was an example of exactly how public speaking should be. Was it Scripted? Absolutely. But compare it to any Trump Campaign speech. Jarring transitions, random tangents, odd noises (and no speech impediment to explain it). You're right, but those words don't really tell us very much. The USSR also had a written constitution. Rather than a unitary state, it was a union of constituent republics. This speech by Biden was the most ominous speech I ever heard a American President ever say. Free press must realize that it's roles is of crucial importance and need to work to inform the people of the danger that Donald Trump is to America. As a fellow Canadian, I hope American and the press can see the lies of Donald Trump and move past it.
