Not only did I enjoy this funny and thought provoking address, I felt the need to comment on the NY Times critic, Jason Zinoman who panned it. It is increasingly frustrating that the NY Times is selective about when to allow comments on an article. Often the comment sections have far more insight than articles that may have an agenda. Colin Jost is understated but that forces the audience to make an effort. I loved his comparing himself to Doug Emhoff. They are both second husbands. and “It’s after 10 p.m. Sleepy Joe is still awake, while Trump has spent the last week falling asleep in court every morning-though Fox News just said he was being anti-woke.”

👩‍🎤 I would love to see Colin and Michael Che 2gether doing this annual dinner event. They’re great as a team on SNL.

I will give it to Colin. He was far more even on both sides than I thought he would be. Of course the roast part is supposed to be about the current president, but his was about as good as it was going to get. The best part was how he trashed the media and their obviously uncomfortable reaction to the truth.

Brilliant. Sharp. Pulled no punches. you can smell the nature of the crowd, when Jost quipped about needing Tik Tok to document the next assault on the Capitol; nobody laughed. seems like there were more right wingers in attendance, this time.

You apparently don’t have spellcheck? But yes. I agree. Many of the people commenting must’ve thought they were watching a stand up routine and are critical of the jokes or what he chose to speak on. I’d like to see them do this. Colin killed it.

It was Kelly O'Donnell, president of the WHCA. She's sitting right next to the podium. There's a moment in the vid where you see her commenting, and she's very audible.

President Biden was one of the few that got the jokes.

Some killer punchlines and a decent razzing on the Prez, but the delivery was slower and less energetic than most of other hosts in the history of this show (I mean, compare this to O'Brien's second hosting...). Jost is much better on that fake news show!

I think we all agree. We don't expect to see this again over the next four years.

I love how the audience shots make half the ppl look butt hurt or simply pissed off. Like is that lady hatin' on that joke or did her s/o just tell her they spent 50k without consulting her. Some of them appear very angry.

After the punchline "my reflection in a spoon" Colin should have said "you got a big ass head Matt"

He’s like the handsome nerd in school. On the west coast they don’t look like this but the east coast elites yeah.

I thought he did really well. He was respectful and funny. Trump and the NYT’s seem to be tied in the contest of who least can take a joke.
