Every one of our political parties has a 'Friends of Israel' group that wields incredible power within the governmental sphere. AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) wields even greater power over the US government. Israel, by any measure is committing genocide and war crimes against the Palestinians. As the head of the UN said about the October 7 attack, 'It didn't happen in a vacuum'. Occupiers have no right to self defence and the response to the Oct 7 attacks goes way beyond selfe defence. People are waking up, esecially the youth.

While I deplore discrimination and one incident is one too many, I find it difficult to identify the widespread anti semitism which is claimed exists. Outside certain London boroughs you would need to search very hard to find a person of the Jewish faith to discriminate against.

The current recommendations on dealing with the pro-Palestine marches is led by none other than former Labour Friends of Israel chairman Lord Walney - no conflict of interest there, then. This government has done its best to paint the peace protesters as antisemitic hate marchers and Hamas supporters. Nothing could be further from the truth, but they persist with their divisive narrative in the interests of one party only - that of Israel. If one thing has become clear in the past 8 months it’s the bare-faced lies that this government (and the incoming government) are willing to spread in their efforts to prop up an extremist apartheid regime that claims to represent and defend Jews. It does not! Jews are not responsible for the crimes of Israel, and to suggest they are complicit is nothing less than classic antisemitism.

I'm Jewish and along with many hundreds of other Jews, have participated in most of these 'hate marches'. The only 'hate' that I see on each of these marches is the visceral hate expressed by the 50 or so pro-Israel counter demonstrators who turn up every time to heckle the participants and have to be restrained from physically attacking the marchers by a large cordon of police officers.

I don’t see the British government stopping any of this, I don’t see the police doing anything to stop this, all this talk and no follow through as always

And just to be clear many of the people I love and admire in this world are Jewish, including Gideon Levy, Ilan Pappe, Naomi Klein, Amy Goodman, Daniel Levy, Milo Peled, Avi Shlaim, Steven Kapos (holocaust survivor) and all the other members of the Jewish Bloc on the Pro Palestine marches. Probably the most beautiful symbol of solidarity on the march was the Jewish Guy wearing a kippur designed as a slice of water melon I was proud to shake his hand.
