    They might seems like nothing for others, but I really like the fact you still posted the ones when you missed the target or were completely of balance or even make some mistakes. Younger players think pros are perfect. I’m not focusing on the ones you missed, but this had my attention and I think it will really help other players in a way to see that it’s ok to miss.

    This is so true, this is something I saw moving up the levels and as I started training with pros that was the first time I saw them make mistakes. Now people can see Matt make a mistake and understand its ok thats so so important. @@Bruss813 sure. As a non EU-citizen is super hard to get a Visa and allowance to play. Some EU-ancestors could help big time. A fiend of mine from the USA got an Italian mother. He played for US youth national team. His mother was born in Italy and moved to the Stated as an adult. This circumstance helped him big time to play professional in Europe. What helped me was doind passes to the wall, focus on where you are going to pass the ball on the wall. Another thing that helped me when I was doing dribbling between cones keep your head up. It's all about practice, practice, practice. Now my game is about 1-2 touch and only dribble when I have to. Also, being aware of your surroundings.

    There is some truth to what that guy says, but most of it is just a scam for kids to buy his super expensive program. Playing SSGs defo helps your game IQ and creativity and also improving foot functionality will also help your athletism. Obviously as a footballer, you should focus on football and spend less time in the gym, but gym work is still essential to making yourself a better athlete. There's a reason why that guy never quotes scientific journals or claims to be a pro player while never showing his face on the page... Don't forget he blames every footballer that gets injured on gym work, while blindly ignoring the thousands of other footballers perfectly fine.

  • @CalvinFox31

    This is a good question, it takes about 6 weeks to improve cardio to become game fit. The best way to get match fit is by replicating the running tempos found in a match. So HIIT workouts are very beneficial for footballers because it mimics the pace of a match. There's a tone of ways to create this for example actually running a tempo run, sprints, bike ect. Running on its own works but its important to not do it every day because it is very taxing on the body so if you run one day bike the next. You only grow and get stronger when you rest. Hope this helps a little, would love to hear what you think about my channel If you check it out!

  • @CalvinFox31

    This is always a great option but not always needed. My best advice go where you will play and get the most games. I played d3 and transferred to d1 and had a good experience but I've seen a lot of people do the same and they never play a game. The best thing to remember is games matter and level not so much. The amount of players I've seen go pro from d3 schools or jr colleges is almost as much as d1. I have an episode on my channel where I speak with a USL Championship player who got CUT from his d3 school and made it pro. Anything can happen if you want it too. It depends what you mean by luck. Luck is just any oppotunity that presents itself. But if you have not been doing the work to develop your skill and game then no matter if every top coach is watching you, it won't matter. Some players need more luck than others. Life can be unfair, some players will get their opportunity easier than others. And unfortunate circumstances can always happen. I have seen players half dedicated to the game who go pro. And players who have been grinding for years and ar better who don't make it. Whether it is because of the coach, timing, agents, etc.

    Q&A- So during individual training, when retrieving balls that have gone over net etc. Should i run and make it a fitness thing to get the balls or should i walk and take it as a break in between sets

    You should do whatever takes you to the next level. Do things that push you beyond your comfort zone. At the same timel, when it's time to do the skill or shooting part, you must be fully focused on each shot.

  • @CalvinFox31

    This is a great question I would love to hear what he says, from experience I tend to get frustrated when I train alone sometimes but I have realized its so important to let the mistakes go because I know if I get mad its going to make the session go down hill. Something that helps me get out of that slump in a solo session is slowing it down gaining consistency again in the drill I am doing and then bringing it back to speed. Sometimes tho if a session is really bad ( which happens to everyone ) had one last week its sometimes better to just cut it short because there is no point in making yourself so mad that it carries over to the next session. Hope this helps. If you have time would love to hear what you think about my channel just started out!

    Focus on passing (short, long), shooting, oriented ball reception, ball control, dribbling, changes of direction,.... Make sure to cover all these and TRAIN BOTH FEET. Can't say it enough, having a great "weaker foot" is a great way to improve your game

    Q&A : Hi Matt, i'm a fan from Italy. I started play football in the youth squad of my hometown team (Piacenza Calcio) that was in the 2nd level of Italian professional football system. Now i'm 28 and i play in an amateur team (i had some bad ankle injury, one surgery in 2016, and the second surgery cooming in September). How is important for a pro player have some "amateur features/characteristics" for exaple play for fun, enjoy the dressing room atmosphere and your teammate, don't be obsessed with the result etc...and how is important for an amateur player have some "pro feature/characteristic" like train hard, eat and sleep good, do some extra wourkout in the gym or individually on the field etc ??? Thanks if you read me, good luck for your new opportunity in the new team and i hope one day you will come to playe here in Italy!!!!! 🍕🍝

    I don't understand your question exactly. But if you want to be like a pro at 28 then the result is the only think that matters. Only kids should not play for the result. At some point, the result matters. Can you imagine CR7 or Messi at 28 saying I am only playing for fun and the result matters? Every player at that level knows that the result is the only think that matters

    Question For The Q and A: Matt you stated in a previous two minute Tuesday that if you followed Cristiano Ronaldo's exact training program you would never become as good as him. Is Ronaldo's skill and athletic traits not a direct result of his specific training over a long period of time?. Obviously Ronaldo doesn't post his exact weekly training and not many people have access to the same quality of training partners as him. Could you expand on this a bit would be interesting to hear your thoughts?

  • @CoachOlali

    @CoachOlali

    2 жыл бұрын

    Individual training alone does not determine the greatness of a player. Most of us do not have the same coaching nor play under the same environment of Ronaldo. In addition, it takes resilience, coachability, and commitment to every training to become on his level and including his willingness to always look at his faults and see where he can improve. It means doing extra when everyone is finished with training. In addition, his IQ level not to mention his physicality. Not to forget, decision making is a huge part. Too many people think that mastering skills will make them a good player. Mastering skills only makes you good at skills. There is a reason that street soccer players cannot translate that level to an 11 v 11 game.

    @@BecomeElite hey Matt, may I train with you the next time you’re down here in socal? I still remember when I had sent you a snap a whileeee back when you were still sleeping in your friends dorm at USD. You had replied and told me that you had just woken up from the kitchen floor sleeping on a blow up mattress. That moment meant a lot to me, you were willing to train with a player in which at that point wasn’t even very good. I’ve developed an extreme amount in my opinion, training with professionals, playing 7v7 with guys that are playing for MLS clubs and some guys from SD Loyal. And that was last year. Even now I’d say I’ve gotten even better than that point. At the moment I’m just trying to get some film so I can send it out to other professional clubs for the opportunity to play. You’re an incredible role model from thousands of players trying to make it professionally. Just the idea of getting payed to play soccer is amazing, I’m not even trying to get rich from playing soccer, I have other things I’m doing on the side. But I still love the game and just enjoy playing whether it’s pick up, by myself, playing two touch, just pretty much anything that has to do with soccer I love. I genuinely think I’d be a good training partner for you, even if it’s just one session. Please let me know if you’re open to the idea of me training with you!
