5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Hey Alex, I don’t watch many of your reviews because I don’t play Legacy or Campaign games. Also with the exception of about 5 games (plus Waste Knight once I get it played), I don’t play many big games. That being said, your review is fantastic. I love that you tell me your perspective before your opinion. That is so gratifying. I’m not saying I agree with everything you think, but you did it better than any review I have ever seen. I’d also like to say that I love your other videos where you just talk about different subjects. Keep up the great work and I’ll always give you a thumbs up!!

I backed this game from KS solely due to the post-apocalyptic theme. I do agree that flipping the book of tales here and there does take away from the focus of the experience. Nonetheless, this game is my all-time favorite #6 in my collection. The artworks and the theme totally sit well with me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

In my top 5 this year. Love the theme especially because I am SO tired of "dungeon this and dungeon that" fantasy tropes so prevalent these days. Minor sadness because narrative book is not coil-bound so it won't lie flat.

Good point on the not lying flat, that was a bit annoying.

Love the format, Alex! You got it just right! You just keep getting better and better! 👌 The new ranking with 0.5 increments works really well. I was even able to predict you would give it a 3.5 from the overall review. xD

What?? It's got solo, it's got co-op, and even competitive! Should be an easier one to table ;) I've only played the solo missions, only two of them in the box but you can play them with 4 or 3 different characters each. So I've gotten about 8 playthroughs. Definitely a great game! If you like the theme and what you heard in the review, BUST OUT THAT RULE BOOK! 😀

Great to hear it's fairly simple and accessible - as a fan of playing Talisman with my girlfriend, this seems like a great game in post-apo world that we could both enjoy. Yet another game worth adding to my collection.

I've spent a lot of hours playing this game solo. I had to take a break because I realized I only had 2-3 scenarios left and didn't want to burn through this game in less than 2 months lol. It is a really fun game though that doesn't take 6+ hours to finish a scenario. My only problem is the expansions feel like an afterthought considering most of the time you are timed and don't get a chance to explore the stuff added-in from the expansions. I'm looking forward to the sandbox mode they've been talking about making (via the mobile app they are working on) but we'll see how that ends up working out. I also wanna try out the competitive modes with some of my friends to see how well that works. Overall, it's a great game. I agree with the book of tales thing but that might be solved with the fully-voiced mobile app!

I'm glad you got some gameplay of this one in! 😁 I kept bugging you about it everytime i saw it sitting on your self. I was worried you might sell it before playing it ;) I'm curious about which scenarios you played (solo, co-op, or competitive)? Great review! I will add that you can get gear cards which can decently negate the luck aspect, along with the level up cards.

You seemed so much calmer and centered in your early videos. What happened?

  • @PinguinoProduction
    @PinguinoProduction2 жыл бұрын

Ehhhh…. Disagree with several of these points. There is a sort of player interaction in the absence of it, and the luck is what pushes it along. When one player is having bad luck they have to heal more and the rest of the players have to pick up his slack to complete the cooperative missions. Maybe you didn’t see this in a 2player game, but it’s apparent in higher counts (I was able to play it at all player counts). With that said, it makes this game very unforgiving sometimes and not very light. The replay ability good but not great. Really the choose your own adventure aspect deviates hugely at the beginning of the scenario and at the end, but in between it doesn’t affect too much other than getting items that will help out or not. None the less, I agree it’s a fun game, and can’t get over the fact your starting choice in the game has a chance of getting you raped 😂

Very honest review, I felt much the same but it didn't keep me coming back. I felt the "board game" side of it was he least appealing aspect and particularly because the board doesn't really change or do anything. You encounter something and BAM... it's gone. Traversing the map was, frankly, boring and didn't really entice me to do anything other than get as quickly as possible from point-to-point, which was hard to be enthusiastic about. I also felt the narrative was too strong, and felt like it railroaded me somewhat, so it was like I was experiencing the game rather than having any meaningful impact on it. This was especially prevailent with the points of interest, as most of the time you don't know what they are, are often it just didn't gel with the character type or what was happening in my head. Eg: "You remembered that there was a radio tower in the mountains, and so go to investigate" (paraphrase). Did I? Then why didn't I send my engineer character there? And then it just.... goes away, you can't revisit it the sites. Too much luck, too much story, not enough to do.

I had a lot of fun playing the solo scenarios with this game. Still looking forward to playing the co-op and trying the competitive scenarios someday. I don't think I'll ever forget my 1st playthrough of this game (well it technically was the 2nd or 3rd since i died a time or 2). Had an epic showdown at the end of scenario were i had to use a grenade i was saving and sawed off shotgun to bearly get passed the last combat part. Made such a great story i wrote a short story about it. Which then prompted me to write short stories as i played through all of the solo missions with each character.
