Wow, this method worked! My hats are as fresh as the day I bought em! Tho I didn't have a mesh bag, I used a thin pillow casing. After tying a good knot, they were kept in there place until finished! You helped me save 150$! Very much appreciated!

You don't even need to tie a knot into the pillow case. You can use a shoestring or a scrunchy.

I got over 600 hats and this just saved me from buying 600 more.

This video looks better than the others. My hubby is a big shopper at lids. When one hat get dirty he buys another. He’s got caps in different colors for every outfit. This method will be a lifesaver if it works.

I was always worried about distorting my hats if I washed them so I just avoided and bought a new one when the last one got too sweaty or I'd just put up with it. I gave a few of my hats a good scrub and used your method in the washing machine. Now theyre just divine, so many hats I can wear comfortably again.

It worked pretty good! I used a large pillow case and tied it very close to the caps. This took the sweat stains out. Thank you for sharing this video. I would have bought several cap cages prior to watching this!

Exactly what I did before watching your video, putting em in a net bag. Always do that with my expensive stuff 😏

I know this is an old video but one thing I will add: go get one of those cheap like $1.50 inflatable rubber balls from Walmart or a dollar store, deflate it, and reinflate it inside the hat once you spray the starch. Half of the ball will press fit inside the hat to force it back to it's original shape. Once it dries you have a nice stiff hat with no wrinkles. Don't fully inflate the ball either obviously or you will stretch the hat, or it will simply pop the hat off and you have to start over.

Thanks for the tips and video. I washed my caps before and they came out ok. But I always worried about getting the front bill messed up after washing bc I thought it was made out of cardboard under the material. Not sure if caps have washing instructions?

Gidday Mate,, yep ya rite the delicate's bag is the trick. Much more efficient than 'scrub in a bucket:. What else I did was soak em 1st with a stain remover to loosen the dirt (I had some horrid caps that I use for work and gardening,, damm they were *#!@& filthy!). All caps - especially the brims- survived well and are respectable clean again. Thanks for the tip.

hey bro between me and you what I do is I just put shout on them I shoot shout on my hats and I put them into inside the washing machine but when I put them in there I'll put them at the top so that way they don't get ruined with the rest of the clothes and you do not let them dry inside the dryer that's how you mess them up you let them dry by air drying and while they're air drying you put the shaper back inside the hat so that way your hat will be back shaped

You have an amazing voice and if you were a general in War I would follow you to the death. LOL. I have the same issue you do as I'm sure millions of other people do, which is acne, sweating, baseball cap, 30 to 40 years old. LOL.
