Was there a Byzantine Church on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem?

In this video, I read snippets from and provide commentary on Nathan Steinmeyer's article "A Byzantine Church on the Temple Mount? Two Unique Byzantine Weights Discovered," published by the Biblical Archaeological Society. The article addresses the possibility of there having been an Orthodox Church on the Temple Mount during the Byzantine period based on the finding of two weights typically found in Byzantine churches.
The portions of the article covered are directly related to the content focus of this KZread channel and are undertaken for scholarly, educational purposes.

No Doubt that very determined parties will prevent any meaningful excavation of the Temple Mount. But for now we have the Gihon Spring, The Pool of Siloam, The City of David, and the Road which led the Pigrims to the Temple. I am very curious as to how much of the Road they have excated and what is the actual distance of the end of the excavated road to the Temple Mount. It seems reasonable that living water is required to clean the sacrifices required in temple service. So how close is the living (flowing) water to the Temple or how close is Mishkan (Temple) to the flowing water ? I know there is considerable debate on the exact location of the first and second temples...

Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time The secred text of the Bible says ye shall know them by their fruits So too that I say to my christian brothers and sisters be fruitful and multiply Best regards from a Muslim ( line of ismail )

I really wonder if it could be related to the design of the Dome of the Rock, which is (or was) specifically Christian and symbolic of the commemoration of the 8th Day.
