    Hey Armoured, I'm really curious, but did you watch much of ThinkerThunker, or Bob Gymlan (no not that Gimlin) on KZread for the research on this? ThinkerThunker has done lots of videos about the PGF subject, and Bob Gymlan has a host of videos about real science behind sasquatch. I'd be very interested in your thoughts on their content.

His massacre at bluff creek theory is too out there for me to believe though. I think if a mother sasquatch had just watched her child shot and killed, there wouldn't be Patterson-Gimlin film, there'd be a Patterson-Gimlin murder site. Everything that anybody says about these creatures is that they are insanely powerful, and have the ability to get angry at people in very violent ways.

    It actually isn't blue. A person with blue eyes in the dark, their eyes are clear. The color blue in the sky is the perception of that wave length of the prism. Think about it, what is tangible in the air that makes it blue? A blue eyed person has no color in their eye, just like the sky. Again, its the wavelength you see bouncing out of their eye you perceive. Unlike a brown or green eyed person that actually have melanin in their eye. Futhermore only we as humans see the spectrum we see in. Almost the entire animal kingdom would disagree...if they could, that blaze orange isn't orange at all. Take a deer. They see into the UV spectrum below the blues and purples we can. How can hunters wear orange? Simple. Deer don't see that far into the red spectrum. Orange to them is brown. So again, the sky isn't actually blue and depending what species it is, doesn't see the sky at all.

    Not any more. Google know where I've been and what I was doing _years_ ago. At a family birthday, someone was remembering, "we were here last year... whatever day of the week, afternoon/evening/ whatever" When I had looked up directions on my tablet, it informed me that I was there a year ago: same theater and restaurant, along with the date and exact time. Someone asked, "what did I get last time?" and I said, "let me check..." and brought up photos of the outing. Even without Google or social media, I often keep a detailed journal when on vacation. And, since digital photography, the pictures are timestamped and often geocoded as well. So if I _really_ wanted to be accurate in recounting how I lost my expensive sunglasses, I could show photos of the site, pin it on Google Earth, and find the accurate date and time it happened. Earlier photos (by others in the party) would verify the brand and model of sunglasses.

    You brought up how after the two men filmed "Patty" they both went back to camp to get the plaster they'd left behind. While I agree that in the broader context this does seem a tad suspicious, consider Bob's point of view in the moment; you've just seen some kind of animal that is apparently taller, thicker, faster than yourself, and clearly noticed your presence, and the only other person in the area mentions he's going back to camp. Would you want to hang out in the area alone for however long while your companion returns to the relative safety of camp? I don't think I would, so I find it less than damning that they both decided to leave instead of splitting up. ...But either way, this presentation was very informative and enjoyable. Well done!

I had never been a big foot believer, but that last video that showed the original footage and focused attention on the subtle musculature moving amongst other authentic looking organic details (including things like the lack of folds/zippers). If you can see a subtle muscle move, you should definitely see a bloody fold, right? I don’t know, that last video really made me pause and think.

    I have a big foot story. We call it the Mogollon Monster here in AZ. I saw it with my dad camping when I was about 7 or 8. We were camping just outside of Flagstaff at a place we called the Lilly Ponds and we’re on our second day of a three day trip. My dad woke me up really early and told me to stay quiet, we were in the back of his truck with a caper top on it. Outside there was something ripping apart our cooler and eating everything inside. I know it was early in the morning, but I knew what bears looked like and it was not. What was outside was a very tall hairy manlike thing. Once it had eaten almost everything, it just walked off. We got out quite sometime later and that’s when we noticed the smell. It was like a skunk that had rotted for weeks. He decided that we needed to leave, so we picked up what trash was thrown everywhere and left. That was the last time we ever went there.

  • @AGenericFool

    3 жыл бұрын

    Sorry not sorry but that´s a pretty stupid question since they had a Bulldozer ready to go as soon as they got stuck in the mud just a few miles away from there, as stated in this video right here and I doubt a Bulldozer would be used without auxiliary machinery to compliment the process of building a road. But either way if you are referring to how they made footprints, you could most probably easily use a pair of the already kind of widespread allegedly bigfoot/sasquatch footprints or just a big guys footprint in sand, make a mold from it out of cement or something and jump onto that with your full body weight, more than once if it´s not deep enough already, if you wear shoes with a really worn sole that would be even easier because of better weight distribution and you would not even leave prints even if you walked around near the alleged giant ape footprints. Not exactly rocket science to fake such a footprint, nor the whole scene.

  • @Cyrathil

    @Cyrathil

    @@AGenericFool Maybe "heavy machinery" is not the best terminology, since I doubt they used the bulldozer to make the prints. It would have noticeably deformed the land around it. That's literally what they are built for. However, construction crews usually have heavy tools which can be used. Sledgehammers, the blunt side of axes. Patterson doesn't look that stout so his claim about him jumping off rocks still not making it deep enough doesn't mean too much.

    @@Cyrathil Yeah that they did not drive the bulldozer out there is clear, thanks for saving the day Captain Obvious. I´m not a native english speaker and I can´t remember the name but in the moment I was thinking of the those handheld motorized hydraulic presser things with a plate on the bottom they use to flatten out smaller parts of the ground. You press it done once and the weight alone should do it. But even that would be a b to transport via horse/donkey, even the smaller ones. Either way they don´t really need anything and could just have used a local rock/boulder to add needed weight/force and yeah I know I was just going off on what I thought the other guy was implying with the question in the first place.

    Drug addictions, and thought addictions are closely related on a neurological level. Some people are more beholden to the ancient part of the brain (Meso Limbic System/emotional) rather than someone that reasons using the modern part (Frontal Cortex/rational). "The second system, known as the mesolimbic system, has its cell bodies in the ventral tegmental area, which is medial to the substantia nigra. It projects to several parts of the limbic system, including the nucleus accumbens and ventral portions of the striatum, amygdala, and hippocampus, as well as prefrontal cortex. *This system has been linked to reward-related behavior (Berridge and Kringelbach, 2015). Dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens increase in response to both natural reinforcers (such as food, drink, and sex) and drugs of abuse (such as amphetamine and cocaine). Additionally, in humans, activity in this region increases in response to more abstract rewards, such as money."* Marie T. Banich/Rebecca J. Compton, Cognitive Neuroscience, Section: Subsystems, pp. 2/3 *"Dopamine, in fact, is critical in association learning and the reward system of the brain that Skinner discovered through his process of operant conditioning, whereby any behavior that is reinforced tends to be repeated. A reinforcement is, by definition, something that is rewarding to the organism; that is to say, it makes the brain direct the body to repeat the behavior in order to get another positive reward.* ...The connection between dopamine and belief was established by experiments conducted by Peter Brugger and his colleague Christine Mohr at the University of Bristol in England. *Exploring the neurochemistry of superstition, magical thinking, and belief in the paranormal, Brugger and Mohr found that people with high levels of dopamine are more likely to find significance in coincidences and pick out meaning and patterns where there are none."* Michael Shermer, The Believing Brain, Section: 6 The Believing Neuron pp. 8-10/29 *"Genetic and behavioral factors influencing religiously motivated behavior appear related to dopamine metabolism and signaling. In simpler words it's self induced schizophrenia due to stresses (psychological/physical/environmental) where neurochemical traffic gets rerouted causing hallucinations to any of the five senses, also including involuntary movement, and distorted speech (glossolalia). www.google.com/amp/s/www.vice.com/amp/en_ca/article/exmqzz/tulpamancy-internet-subculture-892 Imagine the euphoria experienced by the average person for believing they won a million dollars on a scratch off ticket (it could be a joke ticket yet as long as they believe). We evolved to seek pleasure (eating/reproduction), and avoid getting killed (tiger in the grass/competing neighbor/harsh enviroment). With our increased cognitive abilities we made up other reasons for pleasure, and survival beyond basic necessity. The Dopamine Reward System over time bridges gaps in pathways in order to form habits in order to repeat behaviors, and or thoughts. The often cited testimony of getting off an addiction thanks to a God is just a placebo replacement due to the power of the mind (an AA participant I heard of chose to worship the radiator in his room instead of an higher power, and became sober). Another big problem I have always had with the “Patty” film is that her breasts are completely covered in hair. I’m not a primate scientist, but I am a special effects artist who has made many creature costumes for film and television, I also sculptured all of the gorillas for the animatronic gorillas and elephants for the Rainforest Cafes used around the world. I also got to use Rick Baker’s molds from the costumes used in Gorillas In The Mist when I made the gorilla suits for the Horror Makeup Show at Universal Studio Theme Parks. I have had to study hundreds of high resolution pictures and video of real gorillas, both lowland and mountain varieties and I have yet to see a gorilla, orangutan, chimpanzee or bonobo with fully furred breasts. All apes and even most monkeys have a mostly bare breast, both female and males. It would seem obvious to me that if Bigfoot was a primate of any kind, it wouldn’t have breasts that are completely covered in thick fur like that? There is no sign of an exposed nipple on Patty at all, even though you can clearly see she not only has breast, but they are swollen, like a new mother would be. Unlike humans, female apes breasts shrivel quite a lot when not lactating. Either Patty still had a baby nursing, or it was a costume. If Patty had a newborn then where is it? It’s not like any primate mother to separate from their young, especially during the ages they’d still be nursing. Unless she miscarried or the infant was stillborn or killed recently. It still can’t explain all of that fur. These are just some of the things in a very long list of other questions that I have about the film that make me believe it is fake. I also believe that Bob Gimlin was duped. Roger told him not to shoot the creature unless it attacked, knowing damned well that Heironimus wasn’t going to charge him, not unless he wanted his head blown off? A Bigfoot carcass would had them them a lot richer than they became, so I can’t believe that a swindler and cheat such as Patterson was, that he wouldn’t have went for the rifle before the camera if he came across a real Sasquatch. There are no Native American tribes in North America that have a legend of Sasquatch. Fact. That name was created by those trying to sell the myth of a giant hairy man in the wilderness. They came up with something they thought sounded Native American. As a special effects artist, I do have to say that the costume was very well done for something from that time.. 85% of the materials we now use in these kind of projects didn’t exist at that time. I have heard rumors that John Chambers had made the costume. He denied it all the way to his death, but if there was anyone capable of making a suit that could fool the world, it was Chambers. I just can’t believe that Chambers would have made the big mistake of putting hair all over the chest like that? He studied apes for years while making the costumes and makeup for the Planet Of The Apes movies. He would have known better, so that makes me think Chambers didn’t make the costume. Instead, it’s seems as though the costume was made by a husband and wife team of costume makers. The Phillip Morris company, a multimillion dollar franchise now, but at the time Patterson contacted them to make an ape suit they were just the two of them. This is at least what they claim. They said they never met Roger, but that he had called them and ordered a gorilla suit, Later, he would call to ask them how to make it look more real, this was when they claim they told him to use football pads to bulk up the actor and use arm extensions to make the hands and forearms longer than human proportions. I think it was Roger’s idea to make it female and that’s when he added the breasts. He must have used water balloons or some other sack of fluid or oil. They did move, but not realistically. The breast sit way up, firm on the chest. Gorillas don’t usually wear bras, so gravity has quite an effect over time. There is a reason that implanted breast in human women don’t move like the actually real thing. The breasts are not a fluid filled bladder, but a large amount of fat cells that can move freely under the skin. Even when lactating, the fluid is not held in a single bladder, but held in cells between the layers of fat, so it actually moves like nothing fabricated. Why Roger covered them with thick fur is a head scratcher? Any pictures of gorillas would have shown him that doesn’t exist, even in the mountain gorillas who live high up in the mountains of the Congo where it can get below freezing at night, so he can’t use cold weather as an excuse. It is more likely because he didn’t have the skills to produce realistic skin, which explains the silly mustache his creature has. All primates, except humans, have little to no hair on their upper lips. I guess he was going for more of a cave man, half man, half gorilla look, but the face doesn’t even resemble any modern sculptures of Paleolithic humans, even if you crossed them with an ape. It looks more like a prop costume from an old episode of Lost On Space or some other Irwin Allen sci fi from the 60s. Maybe it was?

    Except that there are MANY primates, orangutans, bonobos, etc, which do. Since we do not know, yet, from which this type of hominid evolved, we cannot automatically assume its physiology should resemble more the great apes of today, or an ancient ape with more fur. Also, no one has said anything about the fact that they had seen two other "bigfoot" on their trek out to the final spot, and the fact that the footprints left by Pattie were casted and analyzed by a primatologist who confirmed the specimen as "different" and "unusual" because of the horizontal dermal ridges left in the cast, a feature of primitive as well as current apes. The so-called "colorization" was performed not during the development process, but much later, two years later, by a "film colorist." This "secret" developer was not so secret, and used by major Hollywood studios, he did NOT colorize it. I must ask for your proof that the developer of the film was "secret" or worked for the adult film industry, when that particular developer was tied to Warner Brothers, and we absolutely know who developed that film. Saying otherwise is disingenuous, and possibly came from hardcore skeptics or from Hironimus himself.

The great apes found in Africa or Southeast Asia don't have hair on their breasts... because they don't need it. ONLY BELIEVERS seem to take the photos/videos." PERFECT POINT! Also, it is fake and I can prove it. It amazes me how men don't see obvious features that make this film subject fake. Here's my problem with this theory. I'm 100% convinced it's a guy in a suit, but the story doesn't add up. If Gimlin wasn't in on it, then that creates problems in your version of events. First, if Hieronimus was riding along with them and they brought a Big Foot suit, obviously Gimlin knew the plan, so why would he bother riding out in the wild for days filming trees just to fake a Big Foot. He also would be lying about it. Second, if the guy in the suit running passed them scared the horses (who were probably very familiar with Bob, considering he was with them) and convinced Gimlin it was real, the suit must have been pretty damn good in person also. Editing or colourization wouldn't fool Gimlin. Other things also, "Why didnt' he just finish the documentary?", it's honestly more believable that he got so excited with the footage that he didn't bother with the documentary. But... if you look at Bob's walk, and you look at the latest 4K stabilized one with the higher frame rate, it's pretty clear it's Bob... His story doesn't add up, but neither does Patterson's or Gimlin's for that matter. One possibility is that Gimlin never actually saw the Bigfoot, he's not in the shot at all. He was out the previous weekend when they filmed most of roll. Patterson went out the next week, filmed it on his own with Bob at the end of the reel and released it without telling Gimlin about it, that's why Gimlin just played along and disappeared. I know Bob lawyered up before going public, so it's possible that his version of events excludes as many people are possible because he doesn't want to legally drag people into it.

  • @RoarOfWolverine
    @RoarOfWolverine3 жыл бұрын

    Another important detail is that Patterson and Gimlin were armed, but Patterson made an agreement with Gimlin that if they saw a Sasquatch that they would not shoot it for any reason. He may have agreed that only if the beast attacked them, knowing that the man in the suit wasn’t going to attack them. It certainly would have been a risky move to dress up in that ape suit, knowing those men had rifles and how tempting it would be to shoot the damned thing, thereby having indisputable evidence of the existence of a Sasquatch. Thankfully, Gimlin wasn’t overcome with greed and shoot the creature. We would probably never heard anymore about this adventure. They would have probably buried the actor and snuck off. Patterson was in a butt-load of debt at the time he supposedly captured the famous footage. How many times do any of us just happen to get that thing at the exact moment we need it? It’s like the day the Sheriff comes to evict you from your house, you happen to hit the lottery.... fat chance. Patterson couldn’t even pay for the camera he had rented. There is little doubt to me that the “Patty” footage was staged. They needed a stooge to believe that the footage was real, so Gimlin was the target for selling the entire ruse as real, because Gimlin believed it was real. Why else would Patterson make a point of telling Gimlin not to shoot at the creature, if he wasn’t making sure nobody was killed in the event? When you think of how many “cowboy” wannabes would take a pot shot at such a creature at that particular time? Now, you would be in big trouble for shooting a Sasquatch, but at that time, it would just be another farmer taking care of a varmint. They could have always said it attacked them and it was self defense. I don’t see that being a problem at the infancy stage of the Bigfoot legend. Today, there are so many Bigfoot followers you’d be crucified for injuring one, but not in 1966, when few people knew what a Sasquatch was. In fact, it was the Patterson/Gimlin film that really started the massive fame of Bigfoot. If it were real, would have seen thousands of high resolution video by now, since everyone is now armed with a high res camera in their smart phone. Fake.

    Couple of points: I develop my films at home. The process didn't change much from the 60s (there are new types of material, but the way of developing is similar, sure, not E-3 any more, but E-6 for Ektachrome, for example...) and is is surely possible to do it in few hours. The time errors in the story are understandable as the man is in his 80s and 90s in the interview. Also, he was holding a gun and aiming at the subject of the film. It seems improbable that you could get a prankster to agree to wear a bigfoot suit and let the guy who likes to wear cowboy clothes and chase monsters you are pranking to point a gun at you. The bigfoot legend might be extremely popular since the 50s, but it was well known longer before that, part of the natives culture and subject of many, many stories of settlers in the 19th and 20th century. On a personal note - I learned about the film from a book. On the same page, there was an article about even more improbable creature, the Ebu Gogo, dwarf wildman living on an island in the Indian ocean. Even more crazy legend. Yet, we found their remains and they are now classified as Homo Floresiensis.

    As a Ho-Chunk native, our spoken history of the creatures go further back than that, at least 2,000 years if not much more. The problem I have with all these "debunkers" is how easily everyone goes to the idea of a "man in a suit," but the truth is, there is no suit that replicates what I and many of my tribe members have seen with our own eyes. This film is the closest I've seen to the real thing, and I've seen it enough times to know it is NOT spiritual, alien, or intra-dimensional. It is a REAL animal. In my elder's lifetime, people were ridiculed for believing in gorillas and panda bears, for centuries, then they were discovered, and not only discovered but also found to be much more diverse in their biology such that there are sub-species. This only happened within the last 150 years. A much smarter, more elusive primate is not so easily discovered.

    The breakdown of Mr. Gimlin is spot on!! Being described as a “rube” in this event. Bob Gimlin back in that time in that town was known for keeping his word. He was also known for being incredibly reliable and if he told you something then it was money in the bank. He was also part of the Sheriff’s Office doing mounted patrol and working much like a reserve Deputy. In those days, what a LEO said was golden. It’s not like that now. So, what better person could one use from that community than Bob Gimlin?? Answer; nobody or at least nobody who’d ride horses & be able to be off work for that much time. Gimlin had employment movement so he was available. So, having Bob vouch was a perfect situation. Bob lended credence to Patterson. Then, as things unfolded, Bob Gimlin (who could be a bit naive) may have become a little hinked up on the deal so he retreated. Least that’s a theory I’ve had. Real or fraudulent?? I have no idea & have no dog in the fight. But, rest assured, using Mr. Gimlin as a “patsy” needs consideration.

    The problem with UFO cases in the modern era is because of the ease of access and use for extremely good editing software, high quality footage of UFOs is no longer the kind of proof it would have been decades ago. Drones also complicate the search for UFOs, since most of the stuff UFOs are known for (lights in the sky, moving in coordination, etc) are all acomplishable by drones. So most people focus on older cases where those variables can be eliminated from consideration. There are the unusual recent ones, like the ones those F-18 pilots recorded.

    Interesting video, though personally, I don't think it's enough to disprove Patty. You still have issues like how much bulkier and stiff the Heironomus suit is compared to Patty, how Heironomus doesn't kick his legs up as much, and I don't think that a colouriser in the 60s would be able to create all the anatomical details that have been discovered in the film, like rippling muscles, a lesion etc. People also forget that the version of the film most people see is a cleaned up, stabilised edit. The original is quite shaky and unstable. You'd think a hoakster would get a clearer shot if he was confident enough to get a one of a kind, professional suit made.

If that was a suit, the suit would need to fit tightly around the legs at least. Also although he does get the arm movement right, he gets the leg movement wrong. The "Bigfoot" raises "her" heel higher to the backside than the man does. Still could be a guy in a suit, but its not the guy who says he was the guy in the suit. Also, the toes of the foot curl up like many bipedal apes do when walking. Nothing is mentioned about the minor, but very important details to the "costume." IF this is a hoax it is the most incredible hoax using the most sophisticated practical makeup/costume effects that would make a hollywood production company. That team, who hoaxed this, should have created their own speclab and made bank. Let's also admit that a hoax of this size would need a team, a much bigger team than just four. Hell, it took ,much more than that to do the not-too-convincing costuming and make-up for the Planet of the Apes movies many years later. The recently enhanced footage reveals an ass-crack, flexing deltoid muscles, nipples, flexing toes and patches of lighter fur where frictional movements occur. There are just too many minute details, any of which, in my opinion, are too important to delineate the difference between hoax and reality to the point where at least ONE would have been missed in a hoax, yet new and exciting details like this are discovered all the time. What once was thought of as a herniated muscle in the thigh has been revealed to be a simple fur swipe of the hand, brushing the fur in a direction which makes the fur look darker, then lighter, with each swing of the hand, as well as the "crease" being created by the thumb as the hand brushes past the leg. All of these minute details, and yet, the fact remains... this thing, this incredibly large, graceful, thoughtful thing, is very real.

    Ive always felt that Gimlin was conned by Patterson, and he realized it a long time ago and stepped out of the spotlight, but then when the legend of Bigfoot started having a resurgence and so many were cashing in on it i believe Bob Gimlin felt that he should be able to cash in on it too since he was a part of the infamous Patty film that made Bigfoot a star. Ive seen a couple of videos about Bob Heironimus, and if you can listen to his story and ignore that walk, then perhaps like Jack Nicholson would say, maybe "you cant handle the truth". And lets not forget that Bob Heironimus passed a polygraph on national television,and it was administered by one of the leading examiners in the country at the time. But to hardcore believers you could locate the infamous suit along with a recording of Patterson admitting the film was a hoax and they still wouldnt believe it. At the end of the day, im not saying bigfoot isn't real, but the film of 67 surely isn't.

    Phillip Morris, the man who first introduced Hieronimus to media also claims he made the suit. Hieronimus claims they needed someone big for the suit. But he was only 6 foot with boots on and 190 lbs. Not very large. The bigfoot in the film is 94 inches tall, 22 inches taller that him. Hieronimus also said the suit was three pieces, pants, body and head. While Morris said the suit was one single piece with a zipper up the back and it had no female anatomy. They didn't voluntarily make the claim either, they shopped the interview around soliciting payment in advance for the story. When tasked to recreate the suit Morris couldn't even come close. The Hieronimus story is simply false.

    Yup. And Bob Hieronimous initially failed to point out where the film was shot. Pointing to a park in Eureka.

    Good breakdown of the situation. I was under the impression that Patterson went to jail for not returning the camera.

    No. He was arrested for returning the camera he rented, but once he did return it, all charges were dropped.

    This is an entirely new genre of documentary: make me genuinely believe some bullshit and then tell me I'm a fucking idiot. I love it.

    The first video I think helped show how easily any person could be drawn into these conspiracy theories. Being presented with relatively good points, without any counter in the video, really pulls you in and makes you believe. Got me questioning it myself. At the part where you compare Patty to the supposed suit actor, you show their body proportions. You say they line up perfectly but to my eye it seems like Patty has a longer body with lower hips, as well as longer thighs with lower knees and shorter lower legs (although that second one could just be down to us not being able to see its foot) The question then comes about height. Can we determine Bigfoots height by using objects around it. And if so, does that compare to Bobby boys height. Of course, height can be altered with stilts and i dont know if Bob mentions these like he did the things he supposedly did have in the arms. But if that was the case, how would you create the toe curl like you showed previously. And besides. We all know how completely unalike that suit looks from the video. Disregarding the terrible looking hair. It looks, to me atleast, like its dumpier. Like its Patty squished down. Appears shorter and a big chunkier, especially around the hips, while the original seems more lean and stands tall, despite the slouch. A slouch I seem to share with it, unfortunately. It comes down to this. Do I believe bigfoot is real, I couldn't say for certain. I lean back and forth. But do I think its Bob in the suit? I have my doubts.
