The fact that it took the Church 300 years to anathematise Origen, or more precisely the way people interpreted Origen 300 years after his death, should give people pause for thought.

The fact Origen was condemned by his contemporaries at the time confirms the council's decision - the decision wasn't just because St Justinian decided to be mean.

@@TheMhouk2 he was immensely popular and influential during his own time and subsequently. A record of a few of his detractors proves that fact.

There were plenty of saints who had enemies within the Church and were condemned by their contemporaries. That alone does not make them heretics, and often quite to the contrary.

Bishop Alexander of the OCA stated Oriegen is a saint and the council got it wrong. Crazy. "If anyone does not anathematize Arius, Eunomius, Macedonius, Apollinarius Nestorius, Eutyches and Origen, as well as their heretical books, and also all other heretics who have already been condemned and anathematized by the holy, catholic and apostolic church and by the four holy synods which have already been mentioned, and also all those who have thought or now think in the same way as the aforesaid heretics and who persist in their error even to death: let him be anathema." - Second Council of Constantinople

@@AncientFaithMinistries Well.. I have seen on another video a claim that such heretic is member of your board of directors, even showing a picture of him with other people from your org. I will try to remember channel and video that I saw but no promises as it was a while ago. BTW: I do not watch your videos ever since I saw alleged "priest" w/o beard frequenting your programmes. Following is he quote he should be made aware of: "You shall not make to yourselves curls and round rasures." Nor may men destroy the hair of their beards, and unnaturally change the form of a man. For the law says: "You shall not mar your beards." (Leviticus 19,27) For God the Creator has made this decent for women, but has determined that it is unsuitable for men.
