WAS I WRONG ABOUT THE BIGSBY PEDAL? - Pitch/Chorus/Expression control & lots of other wiggly fun

When I first saw the Bigsby pedal I thought it was cool but also a bit much just to replicate the sounds of an on guitar bigsby vibrato, surely any other pitch modulation pedal could do something similar right? RIGHT???? Now I feel like a gosh danged fool for doubting the geniuses at Game Changer Audio. There is a ton of expressive musical fun crammed into this big pedal.

This pedal checks all of my boxes! It opens up so many possibilities and encourages creativity and experimentation; Built robustly; Is intuitive to use; And its versatility, functionality and design was REALLY well thought out. What I really like about this company is they are truly striving for USEFUL innovation, as so many companies are cranking out pedals that are redundantly similar to much of what's already out there, with tiny tweaks (especially fuzzes and distortion pedals!). A lot of these pedals are now going towards $300-400, so this should make one extra discriminating with their precious musical dollars! Good review!

Bigsby madness without going out of tune.... sold
That is a pedalboard to rule the cosmos, with the Bigsby pedal as the heart of it. I love mine, and I need to explore more of the features. A million Henries/100
Wow! Thanks for showing us some of the other cool uses for this pedal.
That was such a cool video I'm going to go back and listen to it again
Just bought one but haven't hooked up yet but this video has me excited to experience this sound craziness this allows, awesome video brother !!!
My favourite demo by you so far
I had to hit rewind on this one especially after Dan and mickward messing around with the same effects on the show earlier this morning! Great job getting some cool tones there you guys! I bought Henning's Gamechanger Light Pedal the Reverb one.... it's pretty cool! 🔥😎🤘🎸
The finish and attention to detail like the fading leds in the knobs is just ace. What a cool thing.
Maybe branding it as The Bigsby pedal limits some people's appreciation and imagination for what this can do. A first rate, flexible chorus and the ultimate interactive expression pedal. I've always wanted an expression pedal with some pushback. And bravo on that sustain pedal art. Strange new pedal worlds.
I play in two piece duo consisting of guitar and drums and have been utilising a plus pedal for several years finding it invaluable at filling out our sound... being able to mimic a Hammond B3 sound is just one of the ways I use it... the genius of Game Changer designs is the ability to tailor unique sounds based upon your individual playing style... allowing the pedal to become an extension of your playing ... I like that Game Change pedals have relatively simple learning curves yet can yield many varied and complex results depending on how they're set and manipulated....they indeed make inspiring stuff....
Awesome pedal!!!
I so glad you used the good shoes for the demo. Nicely done!👍😆

@@philbrook5655 not sure if your making a funny…. Ya you need to tune as you do before every set; but the difference is, a pitch bend (especially a big dive) on a traditional wiggle stick will almost always knock you guitar out of tune to everyone else. Ya, Floyd’s and other mechanisms help; but this solves that problem and sounds great doing it. And of course if your guitar doesn’t have a pitch bend stick, that’s solved too.
What an amazing video this is! I love you, I love your attitude, I love your music. So I'm from the "60s". Woodstock, counter-culture, the whole bit. I once got kicked out of Steve Paul's Scene, in "The Village" when I was too young and was attracted to strange new sounds inside. It was Jimi Hendrix fooling around. So one of the most important things in those days was exploration! We had the fuzz and wah, pedal period. But it was amazing where it could take you sonically. Electric guitar is just that, electric. Your technique and imagination, timing is fantastic. Oh the places you can go! So for me you took me to new places I have never heard on electric guitar. Solo. Which is hard. Technology can advance art. I believe you are advancing the art of electronic guitar playing. Very cool! Thanks! Saxi🎷
Love you all and have a blessed day!!!
A good overdrive and a phaser and that's the dream rig. The billion dollar Plasma wipes the hype off the table.
That was fun to listen to, I could only imagine what is was like to actually play these pedals. I’m just a home player but that bigsby would be a blast to have. Question would be how do I convince my wife this is a necessary effect pedal? lol I gotta say out of all the gear channels on KZread I think yours is easy the best. It’s just you being you and having fun trying new pedals/gear and that’s what makes it awesome imo. Thanks for doing these videos
I'm working on my foot wiggle, it just raises an eyebrow at work.
I loved when you started to pair them with other pedals, it’s a really fun expression besides the bigsby sound which is really close to the actual original
I want to stick one on my guitar 👽👍
Dang you Ryan! I had to order this even thou I do not like Bigsby's on guitars.
Do the various dive bomber pitch change pedals have a subtle setting ? If not they're making a mistake, this seems very useful. .... Probably just a resistor or to in parallel or series w the pot and a switch should do it.
You are 100% bang on about the physical feel. I always felt annoyed how virtually every other rocking pedal is just...free floating? There's no resistance, no feedback whatsoever. And I know that they are just connected to a string that turns the knob in essence, but nobody ever bothered to come up with something that provides a little bit of a mechanical interaction. This pedal though feels so satisfying.

Hi! It might be an exception, but the Ibanez WD7 'Weeping Demon' wah, uses the same principle, in 'auto' mode+ You can set the 'resistance' to your taste or leave it free-floating ! Take care.

is there a similar pitch bender with an included expression pedal that doesn't cost as much or eat up as much space on your board?

Agreed. It's nice, but it sounds quite different from the physical Bigsby
Of course the foot pedal version creates no tuning issues….this Bigsby on the floor seems to be more like a real “wiggle stick” than a Whammy pedal. Thanks.
But how is the tuning stability?
I think you just made me realise I was wrong too!
Would something like looping a few slow moving chords and then piping them into the pedal work better than playing a chord and rushing your hands to the pedal? This way you can play with the settings on the fly easier....

My board space is at a premium as it is. Cool pedal. However, I am going to wait until the Game Changer Audio's Bigsby Pedal MINI 2.0 version! Lol.

I don't think you were wrong about the pedal. You may have found some other uses for it but it's still appears to be cumbersome and limited, when compared to a real Bigsby. But full confession here, I don't really care for a real Bigsby as opposed to a Fender style trem either, mainly because of the lack of a block.
