Warwick Streamer AND Spector Euro: Sound Samples & Thoughts!

Instead of doing another "versus" between a Warwick Streamer and a Spector Euro, as if it was a competition, why not celebrate the unique qualities of both basses and demo them together??
Here's a Warwick Pro Series Streamer Stage I and a Spector Euro 5LT "Chuck-sclusive" model (from Chuck Levin's Music Center in Maryland). I'll play some sound samples and give my opinions on what I like about them! Thanks for watching.
I'm using D'Addario NYXL bass strings and the Neural DSP B7K Plugin for both basses.

    My dream bass for a while has been a Spector like the one in the video! 5 string but with the 4 string PJ pickup layout, what a classic sound :)

    You make great with great playing. If you were able to gt access to all different makes of basses and compared them, you'd be a constant watch for me. Your don't do anything annoying or click-baity, just pure content. Keep up the good work!

    @@gsimongearthe comparison was something I expected. As being both a Warwick and Spector fan for years. I find there are things I can still learn about both. So glad of that too. It would be near impossible to choose one over the other. I think depends on situation and techniques.

    Spector Tone Pump pre has an internal trim pot to dial back the gain - it comes maxed out as default which can be "a lot"

    Great stuff man! Really cool to hear both and yeah, not to compare but just to show off how awesome they are in their own way!!! I exclusively play Spectors. It looks like that model you have may be all maple. The tone pump is an awesome preamp, but if you want closer to the USA models, I’d suggest dropping a HAZ preamp in it or a copy of one. Something like the SNC preamp or the LHZ preamp. Tone of those will get you closer to the classic Spector sound. 👍🏻

    Wow, i found this channel a couple weeks ago. I myself am a warwick player. I was in the market for a thumb bass and watched your custom vs pro series vid, which was great. The one i have my eye on was a 2000 bolt on. I saw this video posted today and could not be happier, i am a streamer player at heart and was also looking at that identical stage 2 you played, same color and everything. Glad there is a video were could hear that bass. How do you like it? Its going to be either a german thumb 5 2000, or the stage 1 identical to this one. Im torn lol. But im talikng to the right guy though haha.

    While I prefer the tone of the Thumb, recently, I've been using the Streamer & Euro more because of the lighter weight and more comfortable body shape. The Thumb is great at being a Thumb, but if you're looking for versatility in tone, and you can only get one, then I'd say Streamer. Thank you so much for commenting and checking out the channel!

    Hey Jason! Yeah, they're something special! Admittedly, I've always had to buy my Warwicks blind. I played Rockbasses as a kid, so I think I just assumed that I'd feel comfortable with the real thing. Fortunately, I ended up liking them!

    The Warwick sound fresh, no baked in MUFF and it can do what the Spector can: sounding deep and less dull. What about the neck dive?

  • @gsimongear

    @gsimongear

    The Warwick has less neck dive when strapped up, but it's denser on the leg when playing sitting down. It's the inverse for the Spector. No neck dive on either when sitting down though.

    the warwick looks great, so does the spector, but I just cannot bring myself to like that thin twangy sound of the pickups, especially when it is soloed. Your musicman stingray is a whole different story. now that is a BASS! I have one too, only the newer buttercream color

    I don’t like the Spector’s , sound design , body style etc..I played it well, to me it’s the WARWICK that far superior, I recently got my TRAM BUILT CORVETTE DOUBLE BUCK, it’s Amazing ! The “B” string is the most clear one I have ever played , I don’t play metal , I go from Blues to Gospel and everything in between. Can’t put it down. I also own MM STING RAY double and singe Buck, Yamaha BBNE2 (you must demo one) *Subscribed*
