ThisIsDownstate Exactly this. He's gonna get a shit ton of mediocre reviews come Monday because a lot of people wanted to see a hip hop album. This song is fucking incredible in my opinion, it's just not what everyone was expecting.

I'm really looking foward to Lantern, been enjoying the material that has been show so far. Personally I really like the video, great job on that too.

I love that bit between 3:20 and 3:35- the drop in key that coincides with the echo as he says "Let 'em hear your voice (voice/ voice/ voice)...and then the key drop repeats itself as he says "Don't let 'em make you quit now"... Something about it ads a new layer of poignancy to the whole track It's just a small thing, but it makes the whole song for me and I wish it featured on more than just the one occasion...

I love that Hudmo has the integrity to do something original, and avoid the trap of making trap. The production is amazing from the kick choices to the chords. The lyrics are really powerful. The chorus is everything. This is genius.

I listen to a fuck-ton of music, including a fuckton of EDM, as well as Hudson's last album and this one, and this is the shittiest track off the whole album. It's just not good. If someone said "peep this new album" and played this song, I'd be like "oh it's fuckin shit, huh?"

what a disappointing film clip for an awesome song. so much meaning in the lyrics and yet the video is, as is typical, focusing on a bunch of thin and attractive women. wish I hadn't watched it.

+Harry Lewis Osborne they aren't doing any technical stuff, any woman could do what they are doing. Sometimes they are just standing there, you don't need to use ballerinas for that. I don't know what they are trying to say with the clip. It's such a good song it's sad that the clip is basically a montage of very thin beautiful women just standing there. This particular theme is so overdone in the media, it just reminds me of the stuff we're all bombarded with constantly.

Felicity Allicia​ so you want a video mix of ballerinas and people who aren't as thin as them? Which would make no sense in terms of continuity, nor would make a good video... Pointless changing it purely to conform to how you and a minority feel about a music video, especially since its an expression of his music, now a perception of how he wants people to be. If this makes you feel "oppressed", don't watch the video, or just have a serious look at your life when something like this offends you

+Harry Lewis Osborne I watched the video because I loved the song. I am expressing my genuine response to the clip which, yes, is a reflection of my 'life', in the sense that I am a woman who has been repeatedly told by society, through media such as this, that my value is based on how well my physical appearance conforms to the ideal, reflected in this video. My pointing that out here is an attempt to change this discriminatory and oppressive messaging by raising awareness. I do not expect you to understand, but rather than taking offense based on your emotional attachment to the film or the ideals I am critiquing, perhaps you could consider my comments from an open mind and see their legitimacy for someone other than yourself. If you are affiliated with the producers of the film/song I hope that you can take this as constructive criticism and not personal. I have merely expressed that I find this video disappointing mostly based on its sexism which I have tried to explain, particularly in light of the fact that the lyrics sounded progressive and empowering to both genders. Hopefully you can appreciate my critique and continue making great songs but with film clips that are more accessible to the wider audience which songs such as this appeal to.

Piss poor vocals and terrible, god awful lyrics. Somehow still quite good though
