Mark Moore- I'm in my late 50's 😭 and I agree with you. The music nowadays isn't even music. I I love this guy John Newman I love his voice and he is very underrated. I've been hooked on him since an old classmate of mine turned me on to him (she said she thought he looked like my oldest son 🤷🏽‍♀️) so I had to check him out and I've been hooked ever since. I love the song he does with Rudimental "Feel the love"

His voice is different and wonderful, especially in "I'm Not Your Man." His voice is comparable to Al Green and Freddie Mercury which is so unique it can't be duplicated by another artist.

Guys, I've been to John Newman's concert recently. It was six days ago and I still can't wake up from this. I've never ever seen a musician with that kind of passion for what he is doing and for his fans. There wasn't a single person at that concert who wasn't moving dancing and singing. I hope he will get more popular than he is now. Truly one of the greatest and most passionate musicians ever. He's so simple and sincere. Hope I can visit your concert one day again.

I guess in the short term if you're going for that raspier sound, but in the longer term of ones career smoking is bad for lung capacity which is important during live performances, and it damages the vocal chords which might produce a desired effect initially, but is terrible long term for a career. And smoking also causes an increase in incidents of laryngitis which leads to canceled concert dates and such.

saw him last year 2015 September the 5th in Moscow, first time & immediately fell in love with him. His performance was amazing, he sang 10 songs, non-stop, gave his whole soul out. Amazing artist. He's so underrated.
