I had the same issue with the slideboard stitching ripping in that spot, I just had it stiched and haven't had any issues. I'm sure it will happen again, but you can just stitch it back together no issues. Good review though, I love my set of G4's. I've had a very positive experience in the last 6 months with them.

Same here, I have them for about a year, I'm using them for ice and inline hockey and they become a little soft but still work great. I will be using them for inline in second year, but for ice will get new ones.

Never tried Warrior. Always been a Vaughn or Bauer guy. Think I’ll stick with them. Why are you so loyal to Warrior?

Ryan A they don’t try to influence anything I post online, I like doing what other people gate (nobody wants to support them) and the reps have been good to me without being too ass kissy like a lot of other companies. Plus having a genuinely great product doesn’t hurt either

Hey Trav, I also love my G4's but found they didn't slide as well as I wanted them to. To make them slide like a greased pig I coated the landing zone with Tuff Toe which also made them incredibly durable (and would probably have avoided the stitching coming apart). It's the same stuff they treat the toes of curling shoes with and the sliding is off the charts quick. Give it a try sometime!

Curious how you applied this-was it difficult? Did the coating of the landing area add noticeable weight? Also, I'm assuming you have black pads?

Great video as always sucks that your pads and catcher are getting f*****. I feel your pain because I bought a set of 7K Reebok used the glove once and it ripped and they wouldn't take it back said they gave me $50 store credit.

Love mr Warrior’s, got sr set and seeing a lot of wear after 6 months and already looking at a new glove.

@@trav4oilers I did, you got around to the 1S right as I hit enter xD. Reason being I ask about Vaughn is I may be getting some Pro return VE8's soon.

Bought a new set of Premier 2.9 this summer and there’s already a hole on the boot that’s weird because before that set I had the same thing last year. Used those for the entire season and never had any major trauma except for a good cut at the front caused by a skate.

Honestly I would unstitch those pads and re-foam them maybe add some gel padding remove some of the vibration with it

Airslide is a good idea, but they need to find a way to eliminate the binding edge. I have the G3, and there is still no wear in that area, as there is no seam to fray. However, my thigh rise has softened up at least as much as yours. Not cool for a butterfly pad. Unless they fix those issues on the G5, I'm staying away from them. Also, you're spot on about the graphics. I picked the Classic version because the regular graphics look lazy and ugly. Not ideal when there are beautiful pads out there.

What curve do you use on your stick. And what is your paddle size

Gotta say, that's some pretty impressive durability considering how much you play. It's been one year, how many ice times per week would you say you've played in that time? I measure gear value and durability in terms of total games/ice times. Being an old fart with ancient knees, it would probably take me 2 or 3 times as long to get gear to wear down to the level you've reached. Thanks for the follow-up; I'm seriously looking at Warrior (G4 on discount or G5) for my next set, sometime next year.

Its been inconsistent but I would say Sep 18 - Feb 19 1-2 times a week Feb 19 - Apr 19 2-4 times a week May 19 - June 19 3-5 times a week July 19 - Sep 19 5 times a week Sept 19 - Present 2-4 times a week

No wonder you got frustrated with VIU. You didn't get to practice every day? Even though, at best, I was 3rd on the depth chart for Concordia, I still got 4 or 5 practices per week. Otherwise, your ice times represent roughly 2+ years of play for me.

Man I wish I could afford a Warrior set... Perso I love the G4 Pro graphics a lot more than the G4 Classic Pro like you have. And if you ever wanna feel better about yourself, I've put public on my channel the video of my 7th game, which ended 14-5 I believe...

.. even better you can take a padskin, cut out a rectangle, punch a hole in the middle. You will need about 20-25 cm to make sure there is enough velcro attached hold up without any issues. bend it over and stick, but save about 3cm loop of padskinz where u put ur hole, no glue in this loop - remove it. Make 2 of these for each pad, with opposite velcro on one side sown onto them. Now run ur cord through the holes u punched, once the first one is through -tie a double-knot in ur bungee-cord. Thread the other end (that is missing the padskinz part) through your Legpads original hole for toe-strap and then attach the other padskinz part with a double-knot onto the end that's missing it. There u go, DIY Pro Laces for a fraction of the cost. Got a guy on Facebook making them for goalies for only $15 and after using Pro Laces - there is literally no difference. Only the price.

Have you ever thought of a pad that has both air slide and a better sliding material. Do you think it would be too fast?

I’m a short goalie and I just bought a pair of Brian optik 9.0 assuming I was a butterfly goalie but I’m finding they’re waayy to stiff for me and I guess I’m more of a hybrid goalie because I need to move all around the crease so do u have any recommendations?

If the G5's aren't out when you'll need new gear, you should try some bauer latest models, way better durability than on the 1s/1x, they won't fall appart and you'll find everything that you thought was missing on your warriors

The part about the worn tee is the reason floating tee is banned in NHL :D Pucks just dies instantly, I love it, can feel the weight of the puck coming into the pocket but it stops there. Honestly I had ZERO pop-outs with my glove that is a floating tee, when it hits the webbing it just stops, lol. Improved my shitty game a lil bit. If you really want something that fits ur needs - go custom. Real custom - not just color options from big name brands ;) Used Warrior G3 blocker and glove, I liked the blocker most, had really hard pop at the beginning, but it didn't last very long :( also threads coming loose on random places. Also almost broke my pinky coz the finger guards are not really contouring to the fingers when moving the fingers open/closed. All those 8 points u highlighted can be fixed if you give Factory Mad a try. Try the catcher, they're fucking amazing, hands down best equipment. After you fell in love with it you will be a crazy fanboi like me :) Got the blocker this year, hopefully next year I can afford the pads :) The new "Proto" pads look SO GOOD!

You can buy goalie equipment from Costco? I have never seen hockey/goalie at Costco.

I think the air slide is a real durability issue. Warrior made their name by being bindingless, then they go and make the air slide with a binding that starts to fall apart right away...

I love mine. Been rocking them since the g2. Not sure why everyone is appalled by them? My goalie coach is a ccm advocate so everyone blindly follows him at camps. They all look at me like I have two heads when they see my pads. Good luck wearing bulky gear.

THE G4 is NOT pro 11" width from top to bottom. Less pad=lighter, thats what they hang their hat on. Warrior gear is as fraudulent as it gets. Put a P2 Pro beside a G4 pad side by side tell me they are both the same width top to bottom! If i could post pics here i would, can i email you?. Put a P2 Pro blocker on top of the G4 blocker. Warrior Snr Pro=Intermediate sizing. Actually, I dare you to put an CCM Intermediate blocker on top of Warrior Senior blocker, dare you!
