    Exactly ... he said that as soon as he got to college and U Miami the pace was 5 times as fast as highschool ball.. then he had a shoulder injury and any chance of making it to the NFL basically went away.. he also said he’s okay with it because Sapp was as good as he was ... he never took anything away from Warren and said he was a great football player

Rock was good, but he got stuck behind Russell Maryland at first, All American and Outland Trophy winner, 1st round draft pick, then Warren Sapp, future hall of famer. Yeah, he wasnt good enough.     You just say that Miami was one of the best universities? You could have an IQ of three and get in that school. As long as you're good at sports.     Sapp didn’t make it out? He won a SuperBowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is a Hall Of Famer. He is a 7 time ProBowler, NFL Defensive Player of the Year, a Heisman Trophy Finalist and won a National Championship at Miami as a starter. His life is far from being a failure.

    Every time Warren Sapp opens his mouth,it makes you appreciate the class of 99 percent of the hall of famers in all of pro sports. He has had chances on network tv and movies but he always finds a way to screw it up and now he's doing a podcast which I believe you can do in your basement.     No offense but when one has gazillions of dollars donating a Mil is = to putting a 10 spot in the collection plate and letting everybody know you didn't take back change.... Again a nice 'little' gesture, that also is great publicity.....my only point being it's EASY to drop 💰 when you can wipe your as with it.     James Lee really. It costs $50 plus bucks to go to a college game. $40 plus to park $20 plus to eat/drink. $100 x 100,000 seats. That’s $10M locally per game. Now add television, merchandizing, tourism dollars, and licensing and estimate $40M per game. $50M x 10 games minimum = $500M. While the kids get hurt, kicked off team etc. yet he’s mad because the rock didn’t come to the game. Warren was one of the best to ever play. Very much respect for what he did on the field. Just don’t stop there and especially when throwing shade

    You need to watch the ENTIRE interview. It started because Eisen found out Dwayne had been telling Hollywood about his heroic Football exploits at Miami. Sapp set the record straight. Dwayne was never a Starter and Sapp never took his Job. Sapp was a Starter Day One and Dwayne was rarely on the Field when Sapp was there. I've been a Canes fan since the mid Seventies. I watched it play out in person.

    @tony tonyt If it would hurt you that much then you need to grow up. And Roman and Rock are not remotely the same. Neither is Brock. Literally all 3 of those are completely different scenarios. When I was 13 I wanted to be an astronaut. When I was 17 I wanted to play baseball. I don't miss either lol. The Rock is a 3rd generation superstar. He made his millions. And he's not catching Rock Bottoms from Bright Lights and Loud Noises like a lot of those people that got to "live the dream." He WAS a member of the Miami Football team. He still reps it.     The Rock has always been very forward that he was behind Warren Sapp. He simply said he played at Miami, which is still impressive considering they were one of the best football schools in the country during that era. College football days are all Sapp has on The Rock, who is one of the richest and most successful people in Hollywood.

    Caleb Crawford he answered the questions truthfully. He was never a starter... 2 other people started before him. So saying that would have been a lie. He never started because he wasn’t good enough of a footballer

    No shame in it. "Dewey" probably would have played a lot if not started at many programs. But back the. The U was DEEP in D lineman. Dwayne was most famous for chasing the SD St mascot after their fight game. That was about as much field time as he saw that year.

    Coming out of college, NFL prospects don't usually begin their professional football careers in the CFL. That being said, I've never heard the The Rock say he was a college football star.

    The Rock actually spent a million dollars of his own $ and got the university of Miami a state of the art gym and at no point to he say or imply that he was a great football player . In fact he was pretty self deprecating in his book about his football career

    Johnson was a situational starter at the U. I distinctly remember a game against Syracuse game in the Carrier Dome in 91' where Johnson started and several others. But, Sapp mentioned Mark Caesar who in many peoples opinion is one of the top 5 DL to ever play at the U but was blacklisted by the NFL when his membership in the NOI became public knowledge.

    I dated a woman who was married to the Rock's Calgary Stampeder's teammate while they played together. She showed me the apartment building where the Rock lived when he played in the CFL. It was by the university (and the stadium). That was where the poorest of the poor students lived.

    I know for a fact that the Rock either played next to him, or in relief of him in the '95 Orange Bowl against Nebraska. Maybe it's because Sapp was sucking wind so badly toward the end that the poor guy needed a rest...or, he just probably refused to remember that game all together. Sapp had 6 total tackles in that game to The Rock's 1.
