Here, Kaikoura, New Zealand south Island, we have big surf, so when we launch off the beach we wait and count the wave set, ( 5 or 7) smallest to Biggest. Wait for the Biggest to break, then push off, row hard ( or motor ) inorder to get out the Channel before that Big on builds again. Can be tricky with craypots in the boat, and only myself. Cheers to all ...

hello yes it is in france at the port of capbreton in the south west (capbreton hossegor). yes it's often like that because of the very specific seabed the marine canyon called "the gouf" of capbreton. see you soon
