I never understand people having the cockpit door open in heavy seas.

What a contast! While the US people pass the boca inlet usually with 1000PS, the french people do the job elegantly with a sail boat and 20PS! And they know what they are doing! But i miss a glass of wine in the hand of the skipper!

On voit que les courants de fond remuent bien le sable 😟! Selon ma vision, les difficultés sont plus pour le retour au port que pour la sortie ; il faut là du doigté et un bon sens de l'anticipation par la lecture de la surface pour les barreurs ! Belle maîtrise 👍👏👏.

It looks like the skipper of the first boat timed his run completely incorrectly. Notice after the big wave hits the boat that there is a period of relative calm? This is the period to, wait for, aim for and try to power out on. The first wave after the calm will also be a little smaller than the waves after that.. so there is a better chance of punching through if you don't make it all the way out on the relative calm patch.

Majority appear to have lifejackets, and there may well be PFDs that arent immediately visible. This isn't Florida.
