3D printing is the way of the future. After having purchased an entire armies worth of Tomb Kings STLs for $42 I no longer have a problem paying $15 to $20 for additional files for specific characters and special units. There are characters all over from free to $7, an excellent file for a well of souls for $7 and the big bad pharo of the army who's on a chariot pulled by four steads is only $15. I am now SO ok with that because I still save a mint and a half and have far better sculpts. The units are so inexpensive to print the bases, wound tracker and movement trays are in many cases out costing the guys on top. $2.78 in resin for sixty archers and $3.13 for a scenic base with toppled obelisk and bits to make a wound/unit tracker.

Nice paint job, personally if I was going to 3d print to proxy my Warhammer minis I wouldn't do it with be'lakor though, the genuine model is really nice and serves as such a nice center piece. In my opinion (and it is just my opinion) it would be Bette to buy a genuine be'lakor, paint him up as your centre piece and then print 3d models of the smaller minions in your army. The smaller minions tend to be much older designs as well as offering a limited numbers of variations where your 3d printer could print individual models for each minor demon. That way you'd have the wow of having be'lakor leading Ur army but the cost saving and varied design in you blood letters/ horrors/ chaos space marines or whatever. Just my 2 cents as I'm a big fan of the be'lakor model, it's a pleasure to paint.

You know....I completely agree with you. 😀 I do love the actual Be'lakor model. This was just a case where doing a single large model has more of an impact for doing a KZread video. I think there are a lot of people out there who can't, or won't spend the cheddar for a single model no matter how damn cool it is. I find putting a thin roll of Milliput between two joins on a larger resin model and then gluing them together files gaps well. Just take a small shaping tool and scrape away the squeeze out and shaping the rest. Gap filled! Nice job!

@@proxyhobby I was soo fed up with GW's pricing and rules changes(to sell more models), it pushed me to learn resin printing. Now I have two printers and love playing model agnostic games. Big fan of One Page Rules.

I haven't played OPR let but I've played Bloodfields from Titan Forge and that was a lot of fun! Thanks for the feedback!!

Well, I can't afford a 3d printer. And if I did have one, I couldn't set it up anywhere since I rent a room. I also prefer plastic to resin, specially for kit-bashing. I left the body off of my Belakor so I can use him for AoS and 40k. Anyway, Cool mini, great paint job.

Nice! Yeah, I put GW retail price. During the winter sale you could get 50% off of the STL I used to bring it to $7.50 as well so I just focused on actual price. Even $136 is pretty expensive for a single miniature, though, I will admit I've done spent that quite a few times..... lol Sometimes you just need that model and the Be'lakor model is certainly one that may be worth it...

It's a cool model. It would make a great daemon prince proxy or a cool dnd bad guy. But it's really lackluster compared to Be'lakor.

@@christopherd.winnan8701 I have never tried printing miniatures with my fdm printer. It's definitely possible though. It's just tougher to get the quality and the dynamic poses that you can get with resin.

Wanna know what grinds my gears? Why do two-part epoxies (cough, cough JB-Weld) say they set in 5 minutes when they ACTUALLY take AT LEAST 5 minutes just to get tacky enough to hold something together, and about 24 hours for a full cure? 5 minute epoxy folks!

Really flawed concept tbh. It's not factoring the cost of an 8k printer, wash station, UV curing station, the price of the resin, the hours and hours of work to print, and put this thing together. Let alone the cost of the skulls box, chain etc. In no way, shape or form, this cost less than 15 usd unless you can shit a 3d printer, and your time is literally worth nothing to you.

Not really, I've just finished printing a 2000 point salamander army, cost of all models stl maybe $70USD, resin cost prob $30, time is prob less than sprues. Add in the printer at $300USD and for total of say $450 with incidentals I've got a better 40k army than GW do, for 50% cost to buy. And that's literally if I threw my printer in the bin now. Before the salamanders I've got 10 - 15 blood bowl teams, a death guard army of approx 1000 points, fair no. Of skaven army and a whole bunch of other randoms.

@leonandrews2668 lol that ugly looking fake Be'lakor from wish still didn't cost 15 bucks. It's a flawed concept because 3d printing is an expensive niche hobby. That is absolutely not for everyone. You need a lot of room to set up the printer, wash station cure station etc. You need to deal with some toxic materials, failed prints, mantaining and troubleshooting of the printer, and you gotta work with inferior bootleg models that kinda sorta look like warhammer if you squint hard enough.

You make some valid points, you need some space, materials are toxic, smelly etc. it's a hobby in itself (well except for those who have $2K + machines that work pretty much everytime), however I don't agree with your point on ugly arse models, in fact the models that are on option by a lot of creators are far superior to GW, the salamanders by EightLeggedMonster are far superior, the dredge marines by Mezgkike are far superior, I have a mortarion that is absolutely equal to GW that i'm on my 2nd model cos I &^% the first paint job, rather than strip it I binned it and just hit reprint, next morning after 10min of clean up and gluing I had the model again, it's not for everyone but it is for a lot of people, if you want to be negative then ...ok, but other's opinions are not wrong, just different as we're not working off facts here, it's all subjective@@Ulrican414

Sure, if you buy a 3d printer just for a model, it’s obviously more expensive! But on the long run, it saves a ton of money, provided you have the space for printing and washing/curing and the time to put in (which I enjoy, but I understand it is not for everybody). On the other hand, you could find someone printing on commision and you could get your belakor for 30 euro (that is what I would charge to print this model)

I have to disagree....the only thing that I purchased specifically to make this model was the chain which wasn't expensive. Everything else I already had. The 3D printer pays for itself in no time. I'm just showing what you can do if you add 3d printing. If I hadn't heavily modified the model it would have taken me no time at all. It took like 10 mins to build the model unlike building GW plastic takes A LOT longer and painting is probably a wash. But, that is what is great about this hobby, everyone can choose how they want to hobby and what is important to them. 😉
