    Den of imagination on mmf just released their 2nd part of death guard stuff, and it's sooooo amazing, and I believe that is all they're doing for most of the year is finishing the whole line. Immateriumgod is working on Emperors children stuff, and his death guard stuff is insane, if you like ocean themed, also Mezgike has very nice stuff too, which is ocean themed as well ! I don't really like the arch's stuff, but The Transcended - Resurgence looks great, besides their version of morty. Also great paint job and basing, looked very effortless !

    So I love AVG and their models. I haven't started printing my backlog but I am just so stoked after seeing this. How is the scale would you say comparative to GW stuff? The one model i did print (thought shed be a good St. Celest from SoB) and she was absolutely tiny!

    I hear you! So many great models, so little time!! lol. I would say that the scale is usually pretty good. Have to be careful though....you can usually tell by the size of the base the model comes on compared to GW's base size, or at least use the size of the base to be able to judge the scale of the mini.

    @proxyhobby that's fair. The model i had done was from 2022. A judgment Deva. She looked incredible, but when I printed her, I was chuckling at how dimutive she was proportion wise when side by side a SOB. The sculpts were definitely realistic or true scale instead of heroic scale! I have so much backlog I don't think I'll ever print it all.

    I get that the stl is only $10, but you're assuming that everyone watching you already owns a resin printer. For those that do, yes it's a $10 investment, but if they don't, that's now an investment that could cost $150-600 just for the printer and the resin and another $150-358 for a laptop to run the splicing software. I'm not meaning to hate on you for showing off this beautiful proxy, I'm just kind of sick of seeing KZreadrs bait people in with the promise of cheap proxies and then completely ignore the price of the printer and resin.

  • @proxyhobby

    @proxyhobby

    5 ай бұрын

    I totally understand where you're coming from and you're right, not everyone has a resin printer. My intention is not to bait people or create promises. My goal is to show people that 3d printing is an option over spending a premium for actual miniatures. Believe it or not, it doesn't take very long before you achieve the return on your investment with a 3d printer, especially with the frequency that GW is raising their prices. It goes even more so for those people who only enjoy painting the models, that will never actually see the table top.

    @@proxyhobby Right, but some people don't have that luxury. "Its such a good return on investment!" Some people only buy a few kits a year, and those kits do not even come close to totalling that high. $30-50 a month is only $360-600 a year, thats alot of money for some people to drop at *once*.

  • @Pesso86

    @@TrueMizif you spend less than 100 $ a year in models then yes, 3d printing is not for you. But the majority of hobbist spend way more than that. Anyway, there are people that print on commission and would charge you way less than GW. More than 10 bucks, but no need to buy a printer

  • @TrueMiz

    @TrueMiz

    @@Pesso86 Right, two things. One, I spend about $50 a month, buy a box maybe. If I don't spend it, I lose it to anything else, like groceries/bills/etc. So I literally cannot save any money. I live paycheck to paycheck. So do alot of people! It's just like that now, and it's not getting easier. Two, that requires you have friends/nearby people who are into the hobby, who have a printer, who don't mind. And you still have to invest time and possibly money into finding the right models. Sure, if you live comfortably, it's a great investment. But if you live comfortably, it's also unnecessary, and just for the ease.

    I love the idea of 3d printing and I hope to be able to afford it some day. But the price comparision like this is just.... insane. That's like saying Taking a bus is more expensive then driving a ferrari, because you compare monthly bus ticket with cost of fuel for one trip in a ferrari. it's just bizarre to try to compare it like this. So GW Mortarion costs 100$? Well that's too expensive... instead let's just get a 700$ 3d printer, then 10$ of resin, then buy some furniture for a 3d printer to stand on, then but all the nice tools for removal and cleanup, and all the other stuff you need and it's only 10 dollars total if you are extremely drunk while doing the math on this!

  • @proxyhobby

    I get what you're saying and I get a lot of comments like that, but when you already have everything you need to print the models, and you've saved the cost of the printer many times over b/c you're not buying actual miniatures, you're printing them, the cost becomes how much it costs to get the STL files to print and the resin...
