Is it me or is Kislev as parody of Russia stupider than the Empire as a parody of HRE? I mean, most of it is pseudo-Mongol shit and the stuff that *is* Russian is 18th century (aka, the century of slavishly sucking off French “fashion” / the century of Catherine the Whore). Barely even worth a slav squat.

Imagine one country that has been pretty much your country's main foe for half a millenium (Russia's most important public holiday celebrates liberation of Moscow from Poles in 1604, one of our main public holidays is when we kicked their asses in the battle of Warsaw 1920), then imagine an RPG game which has a fantasy version of that country where your fatherland's most successfull and beloved unit of all time is presented as their elite. You have to remember that Warhammer Fantasy Battles was made by a bunch of tabletop gamers, almost half a lifetime ago. They probably didn't consider the centuries of warfare between the Poles and the Rus to be a factor when they created their setting. The same can be said of the feud between the Catholic church and the Orthodox church. However, whilst Kislev might be an unfortunate merger from that point of view, I posit a silver lining. One that both the Polish and the Russians should find agreeable. At least there's no Ottomans.

  • @alganhar1

As an aside, Armour, historically it was always worn over a gambeson or some other similar padded garment. The two parts form a protective system, the metal componant protects against cuts and thusts, whilst the padding offers (at least some) protection to impact injuries, as well as making the armour *much* more comfortable to wear. That spear is a little short, about 8 feet was average, and a spear that short would be used alone but with a shield. Otherwise its pretty decent, fantasy armours for women are often wtf type things! Personally I would eliminate the rounded 'breast' portion for something with a central ridge (like later full plate had). While this is not a bad armour for a woman, that sort of thing would not exist on a real suit because it would act in a similar manner to a shot trap on a tank, potentially deflecting an enemy cut or thrust not AWAY, but actually TOWARDS a vital area, in this case the sternum! nice to see the articulations on the breastplate are high, another common mistake. Some artists seem to think people do not need to bend whilst wearing armour!
