@Maintenance Renegade It is rare to have a sympathetic character in warhammer period. You got some that you might feel sympathetic towards but so far the Shadow Warriors seem to be the rare case of a Warhammer group that is genuenly, objectively the good guys.

With a mother like that, it sounds like he needs a Sith Lord Sugar Daddy to cry on the shoulder of. :p Still, bit of an arsehole to his old people. And speaking of the "books that shall not be named", I would love to listen to a Horus Heresy-like short series of you going through the Endtimes and ranting on all the things in them, be they something that makes sense, those that don't and everything else that is HELL NO! It would be a rather amusing listen, and allow others to empathise with the point.

@Maintenance Renegade When Bel-Shannar and Malekith were competing to become the second Phoenix King, Malekith said that he would rather give Bel-Shannar the crown than risk a civil war...so Bel-Shannar became Phoenix King without hassle despite Malekith being more responsible for the rescue of Ulthuan than Bel-Shannar was. Malekith then left Ulthuan for a long time so nobody would try to wrongfully place him on the throne. Even when Bel-Shannar travelled to the Old World to take credit for Malekith's achievements, Malekith didn't try replacing the Phoenix King. While Bel-Shannar was in Ulthuan and Malekith was out of the country, cults began forming in Ulthuan. Bel-Shannar couldn't handle these cults, it was the reason why Malekith was called back, to do what the Phoenix King couldn't. The native elves were becoming lazier and relying more on the societies outside of Ulthuan for resources, the native elves never took any military training (unlike those in the Old World) and were becoming softer. Malekith eventually believed that in order to keep his people strong, he would need to be there. Malekith had given the job of Phoenix King to Bel-Shannar and now Ulthuan was weaker and out of control because of it. If the elves became weak, the elves would be wiped out. Eventually because Bel-Shannar was incompetent, he had to be replaced with some-one who was competent like Malekith. If Bel-Shannar was able to handle the cults then the Sundering probably would of never happened. Also Aenarion (the first Phoenix King) did intend on Malekith becoming Phoenix King, he told every-one that Malekith was to become King. (Aenarion did intend and spoke on the job being hereditary.) However after Aenarion died saving Ulthuan, most of the elves in control threw Aenarion's wishes into the mud.

@@blindlobster Agreed. Most of the evil of the druchii can be traced back to Morathi. Morathi knew how to manipulate the bloodlust that flows through Malekith thanks to Khaine's curse, but Malekith was originally able to keep it all in check by transforming his lust for conquest into a lust for commerce and enterprise. Malekith, much like Aenerion, brought the elves to new heights until Morathi played her hand.

Amazing that Malekith experimented with chaos magic, conspired against his kingdom, pillaged the lands, tortured his kinfolk and tried repeatedly to ruin his homeland. Yet by the endtimes the elven gods said "yep, someone who has no morals and profanes everything we stand for is the very definition of a worthy king". You would think they would ask for him to work earnestly to earn his redemption, but seems not.

And that is why most fantasy fans don't consider the End Times canon. Hell, not even the most recent games play or give much attention to the End Times. It was, honestly, made just to rush up the end of Fantasy Battle (cuz aparently GW was getting most revenue from 40k and fantasy battle required more units and dedication to play, so was not good for skirmishes nor as beginner friendly), to push their "new and improved" Age of Sigmar line. That is, honestly, still pretty skubtastic after being out for some time. Honestly though. End Times was so stupid. Cliffhangers everywhere, characters acting completly different of what they are, convoluted plot reasons to push a weird narrative (Teclis betraying the High Elves and allow a projection of Malekith bully Finubar to suicide, Finubar locking himself on a tower and comiting suicide because Malekith was aparently worthy of the title of Phoenix King without even doubting or reasoning and as such turn one of the wisest, bravest, and adventurous high elves into a dumb, cowardly and shut in weakling, etc...), killing plot characters right and left, and so on.

Honestly the only good part of the End Times in my opinion is Alith Anar basically killing Tyrion and shooting Malekith in the back with his bow for the lol's

Drizzt Do'urden They perform against faction with lots of arty and missiles unit in multi really well, as they can snipe, stalk and vanguard deploy, so just suffle them somewhere, and let them shoot to death the arty before your enemy realize whats wrong. So basically they counter vamp coast, dwarf and Skaven.

I prefer the version we’re malakith is genuinely hunting the cult, finds them through chaos magic suggested by his mom, and then falls due to the realization his mom is the leader

On one hand, I enjoy Lore videos, and Warhammer lore videos are what Arch is known for (hence Arch Warhammer) On the other hand, I eagerly await the return of Archer Morgan, Norwegian cowboy.

That's what the French did wrong at Agincorut, they didn't bring a Dragon.

Its more a case of sentience, lots of planets have their own xenos such as ambulls or ostrich horses or six legged sheep or a spined lizard the size of a small dog if they can be domesticated or eaten, or are too verminous to deal with resonablely like rats then they won't bother too much, if it could be an issue to humanity then they'll dispose of it

This reminds of of the lyrics to an old inspired-by-Eminem rap song set in the Warcraft universe, narrated by a former Quel'dorai - High Elf. Hey Arch ... did you every read the REALLY old Warhammer fantasy book series Konrad . (A 2nd book i cant name ) and Warpblade ? This would have been about 30 years ago ... i loved them rich lore and easy enough for a 13 year old to read.

Alith Anar, the only elf even a dawi can respect. Holds to his grudges. Never gives up on his homeland. Fucking shoots Malekith in the face for being an oathbreaker!

One thing I just realized, Arch, Malekith was NOT the first born of Aenarion. Morelion and Yvraine were the first children of Aenarion. Both were protected by the treeman Durthu when their mother Asterielle were slain in the first war.

A lot of people believe that Malekith was the devil from day one, when this really isn't the case. For example, Malekith was content to let Bel-Shannar be Phoenix King until he noticed how Ulthuan & its elves were getting worse while Malekith was out of the country. If you create a video about Malekith, I would strongly suggest that you read "The Sundering" by Gav Thorpe and the "Tyrion & Teclis" trilogy. Mainly The Sundering. People don't understand that Malekith is supposed to be a tragic character, rather than a heartless monster. Also avoid the new material such as Malekith having a wife.

Correct. "Malekith"(novel) is actually quite tragic. Makes you sympathize a lot with Malekith. If anything, it is that completely luscious(...) mother of his that is to blame for a LOT of things. Hell, I'm not sure there'd be Warhammer Fantasy without her(she taught the first norse shamans how to use chaos magic etc). Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if she did cast a spell on Male so as to control / corrupt him further. I say, spank...woops...kill Morathi, redeem Malekith and restore the rightful heir of Aenarion. (Malekith and a wife? What shillery is this?)
