I like female characters in wh40k, but I have options that fit the setting. Sisters of silence, sororitas, and nothing stopping you from throwing anime heads on guard models. Hell if it’s that important to you, you could always get female space marines/custodes off etsy. Changing lore to fit a temporary ideology after almost 40 years is fking disgusting and we are losing yet another IP to this disgusting ideology.

The MMO FF14 has been trying to expand its audience for some time now by trying to grab people who don't like the multiplayer aspect of MMOs, and I think they're only just realizing that trying to tailor your product to people who don't like it is a bad idea.

This. Same for dnd. Nobody pays WotC for dnd. Leaving is surrendering. Also, 3d printing is cheap, some models you have to pay 3rd parties but once you have all the models you can make tens thousands of points for the same price as a 2k army from gw. And if you don't have a printer but want to do it, the printer pays for itself after the 1st army. Even cheaper if painting isn't your thing, you don't have to if you have a multicolor printer, it's not gonna be as high quality but you can paint in the model file by itself if it isn't already, it's not only faster but you also only have to do it once per model, then you can make 2k of a single model for like 15 bucks.

For those who do not know their 40k: we already had Sisters of Battle. They are really cool power armored, flame-themed female space racists who appeal to both male and female audiences. They are basically female space marines.

The issue here is that Space Marines get 90% of the attention and love. With custodes getting an 5% now that they are no longer hiding in the imperial palace. If Sisters of Silence, and Adeptus Sororitas weren't treated like red haired step children. Then we wouldn't be here. Hell, there are female guardsmen and Eldar and Tau. There are even a few female Necron Lords. GW could have just given any of them some more love. Some more characters. Some more attention. Anything.

Warhammer in incredibly inclusive. There is nothing stopping women from joining besides the fact that they aren't interested in the game. Anyone can play if they are from an affluent background. If GW really cares about inclusion they will lower prices and not look for easy ceremonial wins like making Custodes women! For the record the warhammer community accepted a trans god that devoured all the femboy elfs, we just don't want out lore changed on a whim to suit the politics of the day.

Tbf, it would be wildly against the lore to have Cawl(the only loyalist that could maybe do this) somehow produce a female Custode. The Custodes are much, much more expensive and difficult to produce than the Astartes and Cawl took 10k years to improve the Astartes by producing knock off organs the primarchs have. Not to mention that the Custodes would immediately kill Cawl if they got wind he was tinkering with their genes. It has to be that the Emperor always had female Custodes or it wouldn't make any sense. If you think about it, it'd be weirder if there weren't any female Custodes. Fabius Bile inherited the Emperor's gift of gene craft and used it to produce his New Men, which are Astartes-like humans, but they have male and females that can reproduce. Bile wants to replace mankind with his New Men. The fact that Bile wanted to do this means the Emperor probably had this very same idea. With female Custodes now in the lore, it's pointing toward the Emperor considering replacing mankind with Custodes-like people and giving base humans the Thunder Warrior treatment if the Webway Gate idea didn't work out.

There are two missing so one will be Chaos and one will be Loyalist. Whats the bet they're the strongest, smartest and overall bestest of the primarchs. They're be absolutely flawless (other than one being Chaos). Their daughters will be the best and most competent space marines ever. In game they costs less (70% of what the males cost) but do more.

The entire sentiment of "I want to see myself in the heroes of Warhammer 40k" demonstrates complete misunderstanding of what 40k is, so much so that it's hard to believe people saying that actually play the game.

Boys play the character, girls put themselves into the toy and have situations they are experiencing or want to have personally. Duke and Flint they need to go stop Destro cause he's the bad guy and we have a understanding of what the bad guy would do and why he needs to be stopped. Toys for boys this is how we think. Girls put themselves into the toy or the characters so instead they would be having a picnic or some kind of party where Destro is the main character played by the girl who is just projecting what she feels into the doll/toy and the other figures are companions to the main character. So if you're daughter is upset, and you actually watch what she's doing with her toys and how's she's playing and what she's says you can get a good idea of what's bothering her. But.... At the end of the day it's the same thing that always happens. Throw a bunch of nerds in a room shove a 4 or a 5 in front of them and they will go off the rails. Stickin your pinky toe in a soggy subway roll isn't worth the headache boys. It's the path of least resistance.They know they're low value and are trying to pull as much attention from anywhere they can and those guys are so docile theyll just go along with it cause they're hoping against hope they can get some of that tinkle stinky subway roll. Plot twist! They never do.

You could see this coming when HC said that his favorite faction was the custodes.....Johnny Cash was right. 'I hear a train a coming'.....

I bet they won't be putting men into the Sisters of Battle though!

​@NoName...... This is absolutely correct. However, when you alter something to appeal to groups that aren't interested in your universe at the detriment of your own IP it is bad business. Anyone could have liked 40k as it was, it didn't need to be changed to attempt to appeal to people who never had any interest in the first place. Applying modern "sensibilities" to established fictional IPs is the height of folly. Especially because it is oh so transparent in what their intent is currently. They don't care about creating an authentic world that appeals to a wider audience. They intend to force retcon their own lore in a hamfisted attempt to appeal to untapped markets. It won't work, because it basically never has, it will piss off long term fans, not all but many, and they'll either backtrack or they'll be stubborn and ride it into oblivion. It is a shortsighted strategy that will result in long term decline.

The Saturn 3 is a 12k printer. This means it prints at a higher resolution than GW masters. It can be found at discount on holidays, both US and Chinese. It can print 2 squads at a time. Sunlu resin is $17.99 a kilogram. Chitubox is free. Wahapedia has all the rules. Do with this as you will.

even my mars 2 produces better quality models than GW with basic resin. My actual plastic imperials knights have literal layer lines, and the compromises they have to do to mold things like the decorations on custodes and the fancier space marines aren't present on 3d prints. the only downside is the underside of the model needs cleanup, but IMO its 1000x easier and faster to do than trimming every single mold line. also if you are looking for models, GW is religious about taking down anything related to warhmmer, so you have to search for say 'golden space janitors' instead of custodes, or 'space bugs' instead of tyranids. (cults3d or yeggi) the only thing you can't do with a 3d printed model is bring it to a gw store to play... but if you weight the base its impossible to tell if its real or not once painted...

@@joesheridan9451 if you can find the file, you can print anything. keep in mind people have made these files themselves so they may be slightly different, but a lot of them as so well done you'd never be able to tell. I think a lot of them are even better quality, like the custodes. I have a Mars pattern Warhound Titan that cost me $40 of resin, a whole army of Death Korps of Krieg that cost literally pennies each and a bunch of tyranid and space marine models, all from free files online.

Let’s review the facts shall we - Amazon ruined the Tolkien universe with the horror that was the Rings of Power, Disney ruined the Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Marvel universes with a plethora of massive flops both in films and television. All this happened because of the insertion of political ideologies that cater to DEI and ESG scores. In other words wokeness’ has ruined the creative process in Hollywood. If GW wants to have the next big IP in film and television they’d be wise to stay well clear of pandering to any type of woke ideology. GW has been retconning since Rogue Trader switched 2nd edition. It will be retconning ten editions down the line. There are so many good reasons not to like modern games workshop, like the ludicrous expense, the loss of stores as places to share the hobby, and the speed at which minis are declared invalid. This is bottom of the pile and really not a big deal.

@@ZealotOfSteal Sorry, but I back up the females of whatever and the males of whatever, myself. Though the "Misters Of Silence" was a bit of a joke, I always did think "Well, why not?" I accepted the Male-Only for Space Marines and the Gene Seed excuse and yadda yadda, but anything else could be fine. A lot of people I heard have compared the Space Marines to the Sister Sororitas, and I could see it, but the disrespect towards the Sisters compared to the Space Marines (Bolter Bitches, anyone?) shows people still take them as a joke. Also, just because they retcon some things, such as having Female Custodians, doesn't mean they have 'gone woke'. I swear, Woke is being used as a shield in some cases as a Mot and Bailey that people can hide the actual terrible people in the larger crowd. I'll hold my breath to see if there is some further woke-isms from GW, though I think the bigger problem from them is their pricing out their lower-income fans more than the wokeness, like how they are breaking Warcry by removing whole factions from Canon in Soulbound just so people are required to buy new armies to keep things legit in the rules for it. They completely removed one of the original Chambers, Bonesplitters and Beasts of Chaos as well as the entirety of the original Chaos Wastes armies! Why not get upset about that?

The worst thing is, we already have super-cool female only factions. Like Sisters of Battle or Sisters of Silence, latter of which are literally the female equivalent of Custodes already. So now, we have Emperor's female only bodyguards and Emperor's male and female bodyguards. Or will we get Brothers of Silence, in the name of equality, as well? As a man, I want my representation too.

In 2014 or 15 I made a character for Dark Heresy name Jenner Trump who was a transwoman priest. She wanted to be a Night Sister... A joke character to have fun with a male friend who was playing a Sister. He kept calling it Heresy. I kept saying " Ivwould be the BEST Sister. Simply the BEST." I did not think it would forcast the future.

I notice no one is demanding male Sisters of Battle.

European race? What the fuck does that even mean? Europe extends from the Saami in the North, down to the swarthiest of Sicilians far to the south. Who your grandpa would mistake for a black guy in dim lighting. It extends from the coasts of spain all the way to Turkey where some dude is throwing a rock at a kurdish guy right now. Europe is a continent. Not a bloody race. There are hundreds of ethnicity's. Each one having a vibrant beautiful history all its own. Filled with triumphs and tragedies unique to it. The problem of this generation is that they don't know their own damn history. Instead of embracing a legacy that is uniquely theirs. They settle for this "European race" slop. Its a bloody shame.

I refuse to play Warhammer 40k, unless they introduce alternating activations for players' units.

This genuinely makes me sad. I've spent thousands of pounds more than I care to admit on this hobby. Until they roll this back I'm exclusively pirating the content that's not yet ruined by DIE.

If someone finds themselves represented in Warhammer 40k, that really just highlights how messed up of a person they probably are.

I had only played a bit of the 40K games here and there, but what kinda ruined it for me was when they started going after independent animators and demanding their stuff get taken down. (Stuff the independent animators were often not making any money on, and were just making because they liked the hobby). *(Astartes comes to mind)* That basically showed me everything I needed to know about the company.

Hell, it's not even "Tea Party" - when I was a kid, the older neighborhood girls and relatives who babysat for my parents, and female teachers too, had this game, "Mother, May I" that was something like "Simon Says" or "Red Light, Green Light", except you had this older girl ordering you around, and before following the order you had to say "Mother, May I?"", and wait for permission to follow the order - if you forgot to ask for then wait for permission, or messed up the order, you lose. THAT's the game we're getting stuck with over and over! Even "Tea Party" would be the tiniest bit more dignified....

Bro its amazon, the people who destroyed Tolkien's work. Air tight lore destroyed over night. GW's lore is far from air tight. Amazon will chew Cavill up and spit him out. Cavill will hopefully learn you can't deal with the devil and that the forces that destroyed the Witcher are in charge of everything in society.

@@Thelionofcaliban I have had no faith in anything GW is involved with for the past decade. Still like 40K, but nothing will get me to buy anything from them again.

My suggestion is to buy up all of the old stuff and let the new collect dust. I don't know what effect that will actually have, but it just might act as a show of support for what was. Stay strong!
