No problem. Thankfully the rest was faster but Longshot is a pain in the ass. That said, it's still a great talent pick on any ranged build because it means more damage and more is goooooood But honestly I recommend skipping that first one if you're more into the overall rather than the nitty gritty. It was only supposed to take 2 minutes lmao

Very useful video. It changed my vision of a Veteran talents.

i feel like you left out one important detail: not sure if its a bug or intended but as of now, field improvisation affects your party, as in restoring toughness for entire party, restoring grenades to ogryns and zealots, etc. So when going gets tough and veteran drops medipac that starts to restore both health(extra fast) and toughness for entire team, it can be pretty life-saving.

It's supposed to be team-wide at least based on my understanding. This should be intended. Hence why I didn't mention it. In our testing it applies across the board to your whole team which should be the way otherwise it will result in juggling the ammo and medipack which is realistically not very fair (imo). Thanks for pointing it out though

Well we will now be covering all the Veteran content, so look forward to it. First Auric level build drops tomorrow. We will make the Veteran great again 😏😏

Well here I am. We will now be working on all the vet content that you guys need ;)

Now I just want to see the vet get a grande launcher. They can be given to guard on the table top and mixed with the grenade perks you would get SO many explosives.

If they had one, it would be pretty cool lol, but that's kind of the Ogryns thing I believe, they have the Grenade launchers for this game.

@@RealAsianRobot true, I could still see a weaker grenade launcher working, just having some bolter esc explosions while the ogryn get the more designated heavy ordinance.

@@samfish2550 Yeah, I would like to see the Ogryn Grenades be even more powerful than they are now and the Veterans having a lesser version with more ammo.

I've actually been quite enjoying using Voice of Command and I'll be going through the middle section for the final passive, For the Emperor. I mostly have liked VoC more than Volley Fire/Executioner's Stance because it allows me to have a panic heal if I'm all of a sudden surrounded or my teammates are low on toughness. I'm usually all about doing damage and playing damage characters in games, but in Darktide, I feel like it's worth sacrificing damage output for survivability, especially when the psyker does so much damage the veteran could never keep up, so why try; and I thought the highlighting feature of ES wasn't enough of a boost or augment to VF to make it seem all that different. I do think I'll now switch to the Krak grenade seeing what it's actually capable of.

No worries, Voice of Command is fairly cool, but I've found it extremely lackluster in Auric Damnation runs. I sacrifice a bit too much for it imo lol, but let me know if you get it to work for you. I'm always eager to learn more :D

@@RealAsianRobot Ya, I'm still leveling and only playing on Malice. Maybe the Confirmed Kill perk is so good that it will essentially nullify the need for Voice of Command once I get it.

@@tacomonsternick Yeah no sweat, I still haven't found a Voice of Command build that works in Auric Damnation, so I'm always keen to learn one haha

Well imo 2 talents are mandatory on every vet build, demo stockpile and agile engagement. After that it's your choice middle of tree makes you tanky as fk, right side makes you feel like a zealot and left side works for any gun

Having tried out Agile Engagement, I like it a lot but it needs to be on weapon swap as opposed to on kill. The requirement of getting a kill makes quite annoying to truly use well in the field. It's a decent talent don't get me wrong, but it would only be a "must have" if it was on weapon swap (though that might make it too OP) haha

I'm loving how the Veteran's new trees make every weapon Damnation viable. Those Rending traits are so damn good. With all 3 Rending perks, even the autopistol can delete Crushers. Which is so wild.

I would urge caution against rolling that in Auric though, unwise to shoot crushers then ;). Krak Grenade and move on haha

For things like Rending - does it apply a debuff to the target that increases everyone's damage to said target? Or does it only affect your damage? I guess something like this is basically impossible to test...

We have tested it. It only affects YOUR damage. There is a separate status called Brittleness that applies the debuff to the enemy directly allowing everyone to deal more damage to them. As far as I recall this is only on certain weapons and only the Ogryns have this baseline. Rending is instead listed as a buff to YOU, allowing you alone to have more armor penetration 😁👍

Nice to see an analysis of the class mechanics! I do feel Veterans need an overall buff, maybe receiving temporarily infinite ammo OR aim bot with their Executioner Stance ability skill while Psykers could use a nerf on their Voidstaff and slight rework to Assail while receiving a Brainburster buff, preferably one that allows you to burst multiple heads at once to clear hordes some.

testing damage using a shotgun at different ranges.... you know the bullet spread makes some pellets miss. you need to do that with something that shoots a solid round. 😅

Yeah I gave up on it right quick, I needed something consistent anyway, I just hate lasgun's weird reverse falloff, it still makes no sense to me. All I know is, Longshot works lol. I'll probably do a more thorough test AFTER patch #14 when some issues are fixed as the infantry autoguns would actually be perfect for my test.

sucks that this video is already outdated, please make a new one for the new tree!

Ok, the team damage buff on a infiltrate vet with surprise attack and a ogryn nearby who you are working with that's running the gun lugger aura and the damage buff on taunt...... That alone will be getting you close to 100% damage and the ogryn would not be slouching either. Basically vet ogryn buff builds are on crack cocaine..... In theory, I'ma try to convince my vet friend to try this with me this weekend. Gonna be cursed.

Yes it does, but you will still want to be quite accurate with your throws (in practical combat). Though it's super hilarious when it flies and attaches to the wrong person 🤣🤣

This should not be happening. Please report it as a bug on the Fatshark forums. Try to show them video evidence so they can fix this. I can certainly say this should not happen and I have no clue how to fix it. (Make sure your game is updated and reinstall it if you have to). The last patch did wipe out loadouts but it only happened once

@whitedevil374 no worries, it's definitely not meant to happen every time you open the game. So if you mention it, maybe they can figure out why it's happening.
