I very recently got back into darktide, your videos helped me learn how to play the game again since patch 13. When i left i think the game was on patch 8. Not a Psyker but I've had a ton of fun playing with a bolter Veteran, with Talents focused on reload speed as much as possible, this combined with Executioner's stance highlighting all ranged enemies and extending on a highlighted kill lets me reload the bolter just fast enough to have permanent Executioner's stance (on a damn bolter) as long as there's still highlighted enemies to shoot at. Survivalist is important ofc. Beyond that, Krak grenade + For the Emperor! or Shredder grenade + Marksman (I prefer Krak), depends on whether you want to use the Krak grenade for bosses or the bolter. I used the leftover points for grenade tinkerer and refreshing Executioner's Stance cooldown on special kills, with that it's quite common to have ES cooldown back up while it's still running. Melee is PYF

​@@schwartzprime3045I use a purg staff with brain rupture, and I like how it feels. I use brain rupture for elites and specialists, and my purg staff is the one that has nice control over hordes. Also, if you vent, your brain rupture cool down is much quicker, and the cost goes down for 10s, and it's great for big boys. Anything with carapace is bypassed too. It is, however, a playstyle that benefits from not being in the front lines. If that's not your thing, I get you. I really like smite as well. Assail is great, but it feels a little unspecialised to me. I still use it, of course. Psyker main btw

It really helps to explain why the things work instead of just slapping a picture of a build on the screen and saying do that. I was building my cycle a sale build and he just wasn't doing too well. Now it makes a bit more sense Why

From testing in the Meatgrinder Warp Rider, even at 0% Peril, will give a 10% dmg boost. Being at 100% Peril will provide the remaining 10% giving 20% in total. (Edit, as of Patch 15, this is no longer true.)

Hmmm, I thought it was 0% at 0 and scaled every 5 peril. That's interesting. So it goes up by 1% per 10 peril instead? A 10% base is even better than I thought 😈

I personally prefer the Mk V duelling sword. The Defence stat is so freaking slept on. It adds dodge distance, push distance and mitigates stamina used for both. I currently have a +15% Dodge distance and coupled with Anticipation and I'm am flying around the map, but honestly I don't need as I have enough without and can spent that point somewhere else. For Perks precognition coupled with riposte is just to good with Empathic Evasion. I crit every 2nd hit and everytime I crit I dodge, and every time I dodge my crit increases. It's pretty broken tbh.

I always appreciate these guides - any chance you could link to the entire build at once, perhaps on a third-pary site? Would make referrence a little easier :) Great work. One tip is to try the new "Better Buff Management" mod so that you can place any buffs you want to track (Empowered Psionics, Warp Charges etc) exactly where they are most comfortable for you.

In general I don't have anything like that, because I prefer folks to hear it with explanations. Otherwise you get a lot of people who just copy and skip the guidance which leads to lower player quality overall. However I also timestamp all my videos and if you ever need it, you can just pause the vid after fast forwarding where you need. (The end of each of the talent tree parts basically shows you the 3 separate segments of the tree which should be enough for copying purposes). Hope this info helps!

I have found the buff mod to be invaluable, but that might be due to my tendency towards UIs with that functionality - it's a holdover from my Wow days ^^ Cheers again.

Can you quote this from the patch notes? Because it is not in there my dude. Brittleness is an armor debuff. It cannot apply only to melee damage. So unless there is a reference in the official patch notes, it literally cannot work like that 🤣. The only change to "brittleness" was to the Veteran's Exploit weakness talent which only applies on melee crits.

Thx for guides! Are you agree that Void-staff will be the best version for this build for today?? (for example you have all perfect versions) I think that Surge Staff and Assail both good for Horde clear. And Void can shot from long distance and have heavy damage even after nerf.

question for you....if your willing to omit perilous combustion, battle meditation end one of the 15 point two toughness nodes at the top of the tree this frees up three points which would allow you the ability to pick up kinetic deflection, 5% move speed and true aim. do you fell this is a fair / even trade?

No lol. I have no need for any of those stats. You can try them if they suit you, but if you go down a lot in Auric Damnation, better switch over to mine.

I've been playing around with Scriers Gaze with assail, and honestly while it takes a little bit more to get the hang off managing the constantly rising peril, i feel it does a lot more damage than the warp charges. It is, however more easier to accidentally fat finger and blow yourself up when the peril raises that quickly. Have you given that side of the tree a go with assail?

Check my gun psyker build on the channel ;) I was the first to actually devise that style of play. It's great but lacks armor killing power unless you compensate with your melee weapon.

@@RealAsianRobot Not entirely sure if you misunderstood what i meant, but just to make sure; I meant using Scriers Gaze with Assail, not guns, staves or melee. Assail likes to hit crits and weak spots, so feels like it does quite a bit more damage than the other tree, and with Disrupt Destinies boosts could deal quite a lot of damage. Its more riskier, but has more reward so to speak. I guess what im trying to ask is have you tried using your Assail shards (not guns or melee) with Scriers Gaze up, and if you have, did it feel worthwhile or even viable rather than using Warp Charges and its base damage + Venting Shrieks safety net.

what staff is better for quick single target damage in your opinion: surge staff or voidstrike staff? :)

The Duelling sword is criminally underrated. Special attack has exceptional stagger, and will stagger ragers 100% of the time.

You can pivot to bubble, but it will cost more points so you give up damage. Also I find bubble unnecessary with good veterans/psykers and you are kind of the assail psyker so sniping everything instantly (including the average gunner) is very possible :D

while i won't make the argument that purgatus staff is actually better than any of the others for assail, i do think it's good. I use the middle capstone since i find assail best at clearing out rooms of gunners and shooters, and being able to kill 6 of them with 2 throws of assail is pretty ridiculous, with the unlisted benefit of empowered that they go through 6 instead of 3. as much as i love venting shriek, i also find bubble just too strong against shooters/gunners, as well as just turning off many specials, which allows me to use purgatus in a horde with a bunch of specials when i simply don't have enough assails to through to kill everything. it's also decent boss damage if you keep your burn up, and you can still be horde clearing at the same time. i feel like with those combination of things, I'm able to handle pretty much every situation in the game except for large groups of crushers

Well, the middle keystone with Purg is the first video I ever made on the Psyker ;). Unless I remember incorrectly. (Although it was with venting Shriek as well kek) However, it doesn't work with this build due to the overlapping nature of their roles. Furthermore, Purg is the only staff that cannot deal with Carapace Armor, all the other 3 can and since the Staff's role is mostly anti-armor, Purg does fall behind unfortunately. Being able to deal with all situations is a necessity in Auric Damnation and the more I play the more I find it important to maximize every aspect of every build

Could you explain the thought process behind the stamina curio? Most of the stuff I've seen online is people saying its a dead/wasted curio blessing. I've been running it and I can kinda see the value? Extra sprint, lots of block, but I'd appreciate the thoughts/opinion from someone who knows a little more than I do XD

The dueling sword has low base stamina and thus by adding the curio, it gets brought up to the level where you can compete with everything else. You also autoblock attacks while rezzing others. So the +3 is to help with all that. Other than for what you already said. It's used to help you survive dueling big monstrosities etc. So anyone saying it is a waste is the same psyker that dies every round and needs "help". When it comes to Psyker listening to anyone else is a literal waste of time. Other classes I have room to learn and grow. But when it comes to Psyker, I can confidently say that no one is better than me 😈. So yeah, all other opinions on the Psyker basically don't exist. I wrote the book itself for this class ;).

Surprised you are still using voidstrike to be honest. Thought its nerf would have made it not worth using. Glad to know the roll i threw disgusting amounts of plasteel at isnt completely useless! Trauma staff is still the king in these types of builds I feel, though. Now Assail is better at long range you can pretty much take Trauma, Duelling Sword and Assail to hard counter literally everything except monsters (and the debuff just lets your team do that for you) Have you considered trying a gun psyker build? Been hearing some good things about Scryer's Gaze with Laspistol.

Gun Psyker still uses the old build I posted. No change, just throw a laspistol on it if you want. It has all the same problems it did before. Good for anything other than carapace and still an ammo drain on the team that is outclassed by any Staff Payker kek. I mean, I haven't seen any high class gun psykers in Auric Damnation that were an actual asset for the mission. It's more of a meme build that you play if you're bored. Voidstrike is not that bad, but it has limitations unlike before. Trauma and Surge are currently ideal.

Nice build yep using purg staff with this is a bad idea especially when u have a football team of Crushers Mualers & bulwarks charging at you lol. The Void staff didn't deserve that hugeeee nerf sigh

Yeah, but it is what it is haha. It was overtuned, but I also feel the nerf was a bit overdone. At least the surge still works relatively well!

I just don’t understand how to get a good weapon. I found a trick also but took me a while to get. For curios if you add the 20% chance to all three you get a 60% for getting them besides weapons.

For a good weapon just save up plenty of Dockets and roll via brunts armory. I believe I mentioned this in my crafting guide 😁👍. From there upgrade and bless as needed. The process is effectively a gacha with in game currency. Let me know if you need more info

I mean, this build uses Voidstrike and not the purgatus lol. Purg is rarely used for this as it has too much overlap. Dueling sword you can choose whatever you like so long as you can one shot or two shot the muties. It's crucially important in Auric runs

It's used only on the Gun Psyker. Furthermore, it's a guaranteed crit every 5 weakspot hits. This isn't really necessary compared to increasing the overall base damage and reducing peril with warp charges. Being able to fire your staff and shards more is usually much more valuable in the field

Why use assail at all when smite stuns and damages the entire horde? I do not see the appeal as a new player.

@@RealAsianRobot I think he meant "snitching" as in "the more people that are aware of the bug, the more likely Fatshark will fix it quickly" - Also, side note, but do you think the talent True Aim is worth fitting into this assail build? Assail homes in on weak spots, right? So it should stack pretty quickly and give free crits. Your quick melee hits in hordes would also stack it.

@Peraru1 I have never really bothered to use True Aim, as the guaranteed crit wouldn't really matter at all for Trauma or Surge users. This build is all about that heavy spam, so a guaranteed crit wouldn't help except if you're using a voidstrike staff. In which case you could make some good use of it (and add on a Surge Blessing as well for the guaranteed double crit damage). My suggestion would be to experiment and see how it feels on the Voidstrike specifically, as you might be able to obtain some serious value out of the Surge blessing (there is also a blessing thar inflicts Soulblaze on a crit). So you could theoretically use the Assail to stack up and then unleash a super powerful big bang attack 😈. Let me know how it goes! I'd love to hear your results if you try it out

That melee weapon is horrible. It's good for 1 person in front of you. Instead of fighting stuff that doesn't hit back. Put gameplay of you using the build.

I prefer not to. My builds come with explanations and it is crucial that players learn the right way to apply them. Otherwise many individuals will simply copy the build and understand nothing. However my video is already timestamps so you can literally fast forward to whatever section you need after you listen to the explanations. The talent trees are always divided into 3 parts so players can fast forward and copy them easily 😁✌️. Just check the KZread seek bar and you'll see the timestamps for everything (you can also check the video description)
