Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback and to Mark for the opportunity. On the last version of my interview a lot of the comments encouraged me to get involved with the Veteran community so I did. The Hard to kill podcast focuses on telling veteran/military/first responders stories and have the hard conversations necessary to inspire change and spread awareness about veterans suicide (which is currently plaguing our community) PTSD and TBI. The goal is to together come up with new creative ways to combat and better treat these issues. Please show your support and subscribe to my KZread and follow the show! Semper Fidelis everyone and have a great Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸

I thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and for spreading awareness regarding our Veterans and Suicide. It was Memorial Weekend 9 years ago, when I was informed of my Fathers suicide. He was in the Navy and fought in Vietnam. He struggled with mental health after his return from war. He would never talk about much, but I learned of the horrific experiences he went through in the 70’s, from my Mom after his death. This country needs to take notice and invest in all of our brothers and sisters in the Military. They fight for us, we owe it to them to take care of them. Again, thank you for being a voice and I hear you. You matter, and God Bless you!

@@Amy-oy5hk Instead of thanking deluded men for their ''service'' (the service being murder of course), you could stop voting for politicians with deep connections to mil-tech companies and destroying your hellhole of a country, sending people to serve as cannon fodder for no reason at all.
The further into the interview he’s getting, the more agitated he’s becoming. The leg tremors are bigger, the stress ball is getting a major work out, his forehead is wrinkling for longer periods of time. There’s an edge to his voice. Poor guy 😢.

I am glad you renewed this so I can find it.
My heart goes out to you. My father was in Army as lieutenant special forces in Vietnam. The bravest man. He was super fucked by that experience regardless of how much treatment he did in the VA. He killed himself ten years ago. I’m so glad he is at peace! I love him and honor him more than any human.
...Yeah... I probably wouldn't stop Rambo either after learning his story. Thank you for keeping and passing along his story!
Thank you for sharing your story. I am in tears . I am deeply grateful for your and for ALL the men and women in the military that sacrificed everything to keep us regular people safe. YOU, sir, are a Rambo yourself! Every person that listens to your story will keep your memory alive. Thank you Mark, for making this possible. You are doing a great job.
I guess this in honor of memorial day. I always go back to this one. I suppose it's a snippet in time of a mind so different then mine. What a trooper
It appears that he was reliving the scariest skirmish as he described it. He probably doesn't sleep well at night. This veteran will probabky be effected by his war experience for the rest of his hopefully long life. Let's pray that over time, the freshness of the horror will gradually lessen.
God bless this man and Rambo. I’m so glad he’s here on US soil to tell his story. This man should be protected period, he’s a treasure.
Great stories! Nick is fantastic at articulating his emotions well almost to the point I can feel them. Thank you to ALL women, men, spouses and families who serve the US! 🇺🇸
I’d love more veteran stories!!
Thank you for your service Nick !! you are amazing i cant imagine what you have seen . Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

What a profound telling of your experience Nick. I await the rest of your story. Thank You for your service to our country. Thank You for honoring the memories of the men who shaped you and were your battle mates. I appreciate you Nick. God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand.
Thank you so much for your service! You are truly appreciated!!🙏🏼💯😇💪🏼
Thankyou for your service
I salute you my friend. I have the utmost respect for you and all military personnel. Y’all are what it’s all about. You’re all the reason we’re free and alive. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. Y’all have made sacrifices we civilians can’t even begin to imagine. And to see pieces of trash disrespecting you and not being thankful for you literally makes me sick. I love you all and wish there was more I was capable of doing for all of you. Thanks, Peace, and love !!!! ChrisG
My husband is a combat veteran. He acts exactly like this. Speaks just like him. Same personality. You can tell he’s a little on edge talking about it how much he pauses and his legs shaking. Have to have a lot of patience with these men but they are truly good men.
I love the added holiday uploads 🤗

Nick God bless you and thank you for your service! Thank you for sharing these stories I know some of them were very hard to tell! You let us civilians know what happens when you are out there and the most dangerous things you must do to stay alive and move forward! At 21 I didn’t know shit but I had a drive to do what I need to do. But the courage and the strength and the wisdom you had at that time is unbelievable! I have a real honor and respect for you Nick! Amazing
It's good to have first hand recounts. There are other people speaking up about the true nature of war and how its organised. Its sad so many people keep getting used as fodder for the war machine. I would imagine without the weapons people would find they have a lot more in common than not. 🙏

Keep in mind.
I didn't go to the military BUT I graduated from THE ONLY public military school in America back in 01. It was called Cleveland N.J.R.O.T.C. it was really a cool school, we had retired military teachers and we had this one guy named Master Sergeant Rowe. He was a marine and he was a BAD ASS!! Anyways, you know how ppl talk about HS and how they skipped school, partied, etc? Well we did all that stuff too but everyone that graduated from there will talk about their experience and how it helped us out in life. Everyone walked away with life lessons!!! Not just my class, EVERY class. The school is shutdown now.
Can really hear the NE accent. Love it. Close enough to the NY Metro accent to give a sense of Home. EDIT: the taliban adjusted to US tactics for two reasons: (1) In a guerilla war, the side that doesn't adjust loses; and (2) The Pakistani ISI was heavily supporting them, including training (as much as they could), logistics, intelligence and tactics. But notice: if the Taliban are adjusting to US forces, it always made them REACTIVE. This is NOT where you want to be if you're fighting - you want the OTHER guy to be adjusting to YOU. That's how you lead him to making choices that result in his own demise. EDIT #2: this guy is, spiritually, practically family. Thank You, God, for guys like this. It gives me hope.

@dannonshalbey906 not that I can provide primary sources but just exercise firm judgment from where you read things - a cursory search on "9/11 Saudi Arabia" will show evidence that the hijackers were trained in Saudi Arabia, largely Saudi nationals and the hardware they trained on was traced back to Saudi IP addresses.

You were fighting a proxy when you should have been fighting the Saudi’s. Even if OBL was in Afghanistan it should have just been elite forces, not regular troops.

You’re not wrong about me seeing what’s going on now and realizing that all of this is just a racket for the Military Industrial Complex. Although I’d do it all over again, I was able to save a few of my friends lives and some afghans I worked with. I also made relationships with marines and afghans that taught me so much about myself but more about life that I wouldn’t give up for the world. It showed me all the things I took for granted and made me want I just come home be successful and love the ones that matter in my life as much as possible while treating everyday as it was my last.
