Even if the officers give a bad order, it's better to follow it. Better for the entire strength of the battalion to be behind the orders, then only half.

Another reason you shouldn’t crouch while reloading is because you take a few seconds longer to reload which, in the heat of battle, can make the difference in life and death. However, if you’re doing a double-line and you’re in front it’s probably best to crouch to avoid getting capped by a friendly in the rear.

The officer normally has the ability to show a double line formation order by way of markers. Sometimes, officers show the way troops should be marching, sometimes they order quick-time, or even sprint. Can be a devil to hear shouted orders over the mic since most of the company is chattering away like ladies at a cake stall! Add to that all the volleys and explosions, and meanwhile the commander often doesn't have the necessary bark to cut through all it all. That's where visual aids come into play. Admittedly, they don't add to the authenticity of the confusion experienced by troops during real battles, but War of Rights is after all a game. There are always going to be limitations and tolerable learning curves. And it's more a sort of simulation than most hardcore online games which often have scores and tallies - WoR doesn't, nor does it let you know if you have hit an enemy target. In a sense that kind of adds to the realism: most troops in line battles like these never knew if their bullets hit something, especially if they were using musket-based weapons. Only true sharpshooters - often on the Confederate side - had a practised confidence. WoR is actually more a co-op simulative experience that strongly encourages drill and discipline as much as battle-line experience. Action is only a small part of it.

@@warthief3401 negative. The rifles are inaccurate. They were designed to fire at a giant group of men, not single target. Their point target accuracy is garbage.

First time playing yesterday. Complete idiots in the public server, which I kind of expected. Then everybody thinks Discord is a requirement to join a regiment which is really, really ridiculous. No idea how that got started.

Game play isn’t too difficult. The most annoying part is the vc. Nothing but people screaming, children making some kind of clicking noise, and others blasting music on the mic. Can’t even hear the commanders.

This also happens in Holdfast: Nations at War, but that game is much more wild and faster-paced compared to the patient dance of War of Rights. Holdfast does actually have an option to mute all the ambient noise. I'm not sure if there is a similar option in WoR?

  • @bigman7856

@@UchronianKing they might’ve changed it since I last played, but it was odd that I had to manually mute pretty much everyone except for the commanders. Holdfast was fun when I played it last. Really it’s meant for dedicated platoons who take it somewhat more serious.
