Great guide. I've got 100+ hours in WoR and I'm still learning. Bottom line: 1) Follow officer orders 2) Stay "In formation". The game is the best!!!

I'm done following orders. I know many hidden spots....may kill 10+ when rambooing.

On the CSA side we say "Full kits" which means we immediately reload and put our bayonets on before doing anything.

7:37 There are multiple dismounted cavalry units in the game, those being the 4th and 6th Pennsylvania on the Union, and the 5th Virginia Cavalry on the CSA. Also, A couple one-off nicknames exist such as "Bucktails" for the 42nd PA (derived from the buck tails on their caps), "Italians" For the 39th NY (Garibaldi Guard, heavy presence of Italian immigrants IRL), and "Iron Brigade" for a handful of Wisconsin/Michigan regiments. The one-off nicknames aren't frequently used, however.

I love this game so far, I bought it yesterday. I think I'll only play as a private, though, because it's simple; just follow your officers' commands and stay close to your regiment. being an officer and an NGO seems complicated to me unless you have like 100 hours experience in the game. Great game 10/10.

I’ve played confederacy most of the time and the slang is pretty much the same. Though in addition to Yankees for union players I’ve noticed many have taken to calling them Bud Drinkers. Lol

This is the best beginner guide I have found yet. Great job!.

awesome content very useful, much appreciated nice work OEP!! I am a new player to this game and love it!! i love the realism and aunthentacy, and the enthusiasm of the officers who's command i've been under. One note i've found though is that (as a private infantryman or NCO atleast) you can still aim and fire your musket whilst in melee mode.

Thanks a lot for this Mr potato man because this helped me out on starting the game and not make me bored to death like the devs tutorial. I have only played about a hour but this helps so much and I just don't understand how you don't have more like and subs so glory upon you Mr potato man and say hello to your 57 sub.

Great guide, Thanks for sharing. Sharing to Steam. I came in looking for all this stuff and left in good shape. My only wish would be that you covered how to shoot a bit, I know its self explanatory, but I am not even sure I am close to hitting targets at volley ranges.

Truth be told, I'm not that good at shooting either. I can't remember if I put this in the video but I believe if you're close to medium range you are supposed to aim at an enemy's waist. Thanks for the feedback.

This game looks wicked

That is a LOT of information.

ive heard csa players refer to the union players as Ritalin goblins which from what ive seen is pretty accurate

You can shot while in mele infact it is faster but you have to put your bayonet on if your using your butend you can’t shot but with a bayonet you can shot and aim faster then regularly

how to know you hit someting. i know i know everyone screams its realistic but how should i ever know if i hit someone if i get no confirmation cause u cant see shit after u fire through the smoke. i dont need poins i dont need a name or smth i just wanna know if i hit smth so i lean how to aim, and how the hell do i ever know what is enemy and what not in this chaos

I like the idea of the game but I literally can not tell when I hit anyone it's just like shooting towards the enemy and hoping you hit someone but never getting the satisfaction of knowing if you nailed anyone

You mentioned something about a rifle that turns into a shotgun! Which rifle is it? From what unit and which key do I press to use types of ammo?

It's the 1842 rifle. I don't know which unit because It's kind of random if you get it or not. But in order to use the buckshot ammo with it you press 5 then r to load it.

@@preppychrisbou Most militia regiments, 69th NY, and I dunno for the CSA ones. Basically if u press 5 which is the default key for it, you load buck n ball shots. Which is like a round ball with a few buckshot, give you a larger kill area at close range.

As flag bearer u can crouch if nobody is spawning in on you, you can see on the bottom right corner of your screen if you have anybody spawning in on you and then stand up. But like I said if there's somebody spawning in do not crouch. Agreed the musicians are useless and annoying.

Try messing around with your audio settings. But this is a common bug that everyone expirences and strikes a random. It goes away eventually, just try changing audio settings and restarting the game until it works, that's the best I could tell you, sorry.
